TOP 10 PERFORMANCE RESULTS FOR SE VS MADAGASCAR

Post by JACKAL »

1.Coaches Game Management: 0
While I would love to start conspiracy theories that Rohr intentionally sabotaged us so his wifes country could get into the 2nd round...I am afraid the reason for our loss is much simpler than that.. A not so great coach !!

I have never expressed any confidence in this our Journeyman coach. The team is too big for him and our ambitions far outsize his abilities. I have never seen a coach come up with so many formations from game to game, even half to half. I am pretty sure we have lost more games under this coach than any other we have ever had.

2. Captains Leadership: 0
I doubt there is anyone now who misunderstands how important it is now to have a captain who can rally the troops on the field of play. We don't have that in either Mikel or Musa. I think we can all say a nice goodbye to Mikel now. thanks for your service.

3.Influencing the Referee: 0
This is where gamesmanship is useful. When things are not going great for your team. Recruit the ref as your 12th man.

4. Aesthetic Play : 1
For all our possession and European experience we came up with nada...

5. Kickoff: Must hold the ball for more than 30 Second before giving it away: 0

6. Passing: 60 % + possession time: 7
The got 64% possession. Means nothing when you cant score goals

7. Set Pieces : 0
Really bad execution
.
8. Pressing the ball from the front: 0
This a strategy to steal balls upfront and try to get a quick goal. Its also a great defensive strategy...something that that every country in the world is doing except us. SHAME !!

9. Quality of Goal Keeping : 0
Again, a crazy coaching decision. You can change your whole team, you don't experiment with the goal keepers position

10. Quality Goals Scored VS. Conceded: 3 vs. 0 : 0
Madagascar beat us by 2 goals.... Not even in anyone's wildest dreams did anyone see this.

TOTAL : 8 out of 100 Points

This is clearly the worst performance we have put together is a long, long time. I m not sure whats going to happen from here on but clearly we as a nation have lost confidence in this team. Winning the cup is the only thing that can save Rohrs job.

1.Coaches Game Management: So far Rohr team has not been outstanding in the Cup
2. Captains Leadership: Why would they appoint a guy who doesn't talk as captain ?
3. Influencing the Referee:
4. Aesthetic Play :
5. Kickoff: Must hold the ball for more than 30 Second before giving it away:
6. Passing: 60 % + possession time:
7. Set Pieces : I have been impressed with the set-piece corner play they seem to be running for Omerouo.. Lets see if they can reproduce it again.
8. Pressing the ball from the front: Just not in the cards for us
9. Quality of Goal Keeping : :bored:
10. Quality Goals Scored VS. Conceded: 3 vs. 0

Each bullet point is worth 10 Points. Maximum score of 100

Managascar actually has a fight in them. They have demonstrated why they qualified for the cup. However they are still a 3rd Tier African side ranked number 108 by FIFA. We need to go out and crush these guys.

Good points.
My list, which somewhat mirrors yours would be:
1. Keep a clean sheet
2. Increase our shots on target to 10+
3. 60%+ possession
4. 1 set-piece goal
5. Win back possession 6+ times in the final third
6. Score 3+ goals
7. Score 2+ goals from opening play
8. Front four achieve 85% pass completion
9. Limit opposition to 3 shots on target
10. Ighalo (if he starts) on top of scoring charts

Not being disrespectful of Mad, but it’s worth us demonstrating genuine ambition at this point.

Story for the gods, mines quite simple

1 keep a clean sheet
2 win and top the group ( could careless about scoreline), just win.
3 play to avoid needless injuries, just keep it simple and professional.

Every other thing na tales by moonlight.

On my targets, 1 for 10 (possession).
Rohr is now fully on probation.
The problem with today’s loss is that only by winning the whole thing will I continue to support him in the job. I suspect most will not even be that kind.
