Top 75 foreign-based players

Post by Paveman »

I have taken a leaf from Chief NFA's page and compiled a list of who I think are the current top 75 Nigerian professional players outside the NFL. Of course, IT IS CLEAR that not all 75 are SE material, if anything, not more than 45/50 of them. Some in the list are quite young and might eventually make it to the SE. Nice list. Now we need a list of Nigeria Germans waiting for England to call them. I bet it’s longer.

Chief,

I decided to make a round figure of 75. True, the last ten or so were a bit difficult, but as the season progresses I plan to remove some with new ones that will inevitably crop up. I recall EZe playing at right-back, maybe he has shifted inside recently?

Alampasu?

Mymind, yes he was one of the players I left out. Let us see how his season pans out.

Lolly, Dele Alampasu is on the books of a team in the 2nd division in Portugal, and hasn’t managed a game for them since January. He is actually with the U23 team apparently....

I don’t think Bright Enobakhare needs to “commit” to Nigeria...

He was born in Nigeria and grew up in Nigeria until he was 15 or 16 before moving to the UK. As far as we are aware, he has no other national affiliation (nor played for any other country) apart from Nigeria.

Gotti, thanks for info. I will add him to the list if he gets decent playing time at Wolves.

Kindly add Paul Mukairu to the list. I noticed him when i was doing the battle series but I felt he would be stuck with the u19 for a while. Well, I was wrong.

Paul Omo Mukairu – The 19 Year Old Nigerian Boy Wonder Shining Bright In Turkey For Antalyaspor

Five months ago a certain 19 year old Nigerian named Paul Omo Mukairu arrived Turkey to begin his professional stint with the U19 of Turkish top division side Antalayspor.

Loading...
Fresh from missing out on a spot to represent Nigeria at the U20 World Youth Championship he wasted no time in making his mark at the club with six goals and 4 assists to his name from four games.

That form earned him a spot in the pre season plans of the first team and also a five year professional contract and he stepped it up with another strong showing in pre season games ahead of the start of this season.

To the surprise of many, Mukairu who was virtually a player for the U19, a little less than two months ago started for Antalayspor in their first game of the season and lasted 82 minutes in their 1-0 away win over Goztepe.

His performance set tongues wagging in Turkey and many have tipped him to live up to the “New Obafemi Martins ” tag he was given when he took the U19 league by storm upon his arrival from Nigeria.

Gotti,

Thanks for correction.

Chief, let’s see mukairu’s progress and then will add him. That’s interesting, what type of striker is him, I have never seen him play.

GOALKEEPER:

You forgot to add David Nwokolor, keeping in Croatia for Rijeka. He grew up in Nigeria and started with the famed Abuja Football Academy.
