we're improving have some FAITH

Post by john12 »

3 years ago when rohr was hired, we were ranked 66th and were at one of our lowest point in SE history. also, we had just failed to qualify for back to back ANC and most of our players performed at BACKWATER leagues or clubs. Today, as of September 2019 I can proudly say that rohr has done a good job considering what he inherited. we're now ranked 3rd in Africa, 33rd in FIFA and one of my biggest pet peeve has changed (less BACKWATER) our best starting xi consists of less BACKWATER

uzoho - Backwater

rb aina/ebuehi Top 5 league
collins/aina - Top 3 league
ekong - Top 3 league
omeruo - top 3 league

Ndidi - Top 3 league
Iwobi - top 3 league
etebo - Backwater

chukwueze- top 3 league
samuel kalu - top 5 league
osimehn- top 5 league

as of 2019, only 2 players in our Starting xi perform at BACKWATER league while the rest are at the best leagues in the world. (midrated teams) The next step is the biggest Step they can achieve "World class team" I believe that SE can finally produce an African superstar in the mood of Drogba, essien, salah, yaya any time soon. PLEASE SUPPORT Your Coach, team, players etc our boys need your encouragement not discouragement

For those Suffering from Delusional grandeur or outright ignorance. Below is a link to super eagles World and Africa ranking prior to ROHR hiring

https://www.google.com/amp/s/newfanzone ... -2016/amp/

Prior to rohr hiring, we were ranked 66th in the world and 16th in Africa. 3 years later look at what he has achieved. I am sorry but no SANE human being will look at these situations/results not give the man his due Accolades. I am not celebrating mediocrity or losing But I’m celebrating “Improvement”. “Due process”. “Integrity” I expect another improvement from him in the next 2/3 years

The squad is getting better as time progresses. The 2019 AFCON squad was better than the 2018 World Cup squad, and the post 2019 AFCON squad, is better than the AFCON squad. New and better players are being added to the squad i.e. Semi Ajayi and Joe Aribo instead of John Ogu, for the Ukrainian friendly. I believe as time goes on players like Kingsley Michael, Noah Joel Sarenren-Bazee, David Okereke, Azubuike Okechukwu etc will be added to the squad and players like Moses Simon could possibly fall out.
It's a gradual progression towards 2022.
I am happy

You are celebrating mediocrity.

A top coach would be gleaming at the prospect of the damage a team with these players could do to teams.

However, we have a coach takes these boys on acada trips to tournaments. Not good enough :boo:

In a sane Country or environment, improving your team rankings from

https://www.google.com/amp/s/newfanzone ... -2016/amp/ to

https://www.fifa.com/fifa-world-ranking ... table/men/ Is a huge accomplishment and any sane person will get Credit where credit is due. I expect similar progress in the next 2/3 years of employment

Nigeria was ranked 31 in the year we won our last senior men's trophy.

The year following after which was the world cup year we dropped to 41.

Trophies mean much more to me.

The improvement of where our players ply their trade is due to the many factors; academies that produced them, to coaches that trained them at the junior leavel and those that train them now day in and day out at their clubs... not because of Rohr.

If our success is really only determined by where our players play then we don't need a coach.

The fact remains that some of our coaches have achieved just as much as Rohr is doing with players in "backwater" leagues.

The team is barely playing above 50%. Note that I said THE TEAM....

Many of the miserly few new things we see are either individual-based or lacking details.

Just to enlighten you as you suggested, lets look at the attack:

1. Samu's role's been tweaked to play more central, to get him closer to Osimhen, coming from wide left.
Ok, fair enough, but this has a collateral damage elsewhere!!!
Ignoring his individual errors for a minute, what about the right back and Ola Aina, who's left to defend, isolated in open space????

The horse-face is sitting on his bench chewing gworo!!!!!!

2. A young Osimhen comes with his club football orientation and is making moves to create space and to move defenders around. But this is all about Osimhen!

How do I know?

There is a lack of compensatory movement to attack the space he creates!

Its about action and reaction. PRE-PLANNED action and reaction!

And the result?

A highly talented front trio is still largely playing on the basis of positions and 1v1 abilities, rather than synchronized movements and constant switching of positions and the points of attack.

Meanwhile, horse-face is still on the bench chewing gworo!!!

Liverpool, European Champions 2005.

We watched this very boring video, 500 times, of Sacchi doing defensive drills, using sticks and without the ball, with Maldini, Baresi and Albertini. We used to think before then that if the other players are better, you have to lose. After that we learned anything is possible – you can beat better teams by using tactics." Jurgen Klopp

This is the first game of the new generation of players and you want them to be perfect. this is the kind of thinking that leads to 300mil broke people with no water, food or Light. If it was that easy to get things right there wouldn't even be goal posts. they'd just award games based on compensatory movement and collateral damage management.

All these internet coaches that analyze games and make it looks easy they should post their coaching achievements. It reminds me of oliseh talking smack about keshi until he was given the SE job. (The rest is history)

the way the guy kept on denigrating, disparaging keshi team performance was irresistible. infact, you would had thought the bobo will barcarize SE Haha. do you realize that oliseh couldn't qualify his team past the group stage of ordinary WAFU. always fear extremely Critical internet coaches or pundits because if given a chance, they would perform 3x worse. say hello to Gary neville, henry etc

Its about the team and it's systemic issues.
