Etebo is not better than Ndidi or Aribo.

No he is not.

In fact I am confident we would have lost today had Etebo played instead of Aribo.

For all of his industry he will lose or give away the ball in a vital area at least once in the match, and a team like Brazil will punish you all day long.

Etebo is a good player, but needs to be more dynamic, play smart instead of trying to dribble all of the time.

I remember how he killed so many counter attacks vs Argentina at the last WC with his selfishness and inability to keep his head up and move the ball quickly.

Aribo is far superior.

But passing, intelligence, scoring ability, vision will trump being a workaholic any day. Especially when we already have "workaholic" Ndidi. We dont need 2 workaholics at the expense of an intelligent player who isn't so lacking in the "workaholic" department either.

Etebo was our best CM vs Ukraine and is having a great season so far, Aribo is a good backup but Etebo is a beast. I dunno when we will stop this campaign against him, he was our best midfielder at the WC, best midfielder at ANC, but some newcomer is just gonna take his spot?

Etebo was An Am when he originally started and he used to make surging runs from midfield to score. Also, there’s nothing wrong with using 3 powerful box to box midfielders because iwobi performance today is unacceptable

He is very physical and appears to have good stamina. He is a solid two way midfielder who can move the ball forward. He is a very different player from Etebo who is great at being the outlet to distribute the ball. I am not convinced Aribo cab play Etebo’s role but based on what I saw today, his play was such that he is in contention for a staring role. It’s definitely a good problem to have for Nigeria.

Very true, will like to see him match other Africans, guy was class vs Ukraine and Brazil...hopefully we get to see him during the qualifiers, however bobo seems set for International football...super impressed..he never stops running

Its not a radical idea. Etebo came to light at the olympics right behind the forwards. Iwobi def starts, but Etebo could come in for him when he tires to solidify the midfield and still pose an offensive threat (albeit lesser than Iwobi would)

Offense or defensive formation did not prevent him from shielding his ball better, making the right passes, losing the ball and having the awareness of a 5 year old in some cases. He was the absolute worst player on that pitch today and no formation led to his diabolical play.
