At least he picks players mostly on merit.
Sad but true.
So what "meritorious" players were out there and AVAILABLE (as in their clubs agreed to release them for the tournament) who were not selected?
It's quite sad when supposedly educated and enlightened Nigerians leave substance and chase shadows. Imama may be a poor football coach (after all, he has only had a season of good record in the NPFL), but there's absolutely NO credible evidence of the corruption being imputed here. SMH
Good luck with getting a response to that.
I asked the same Q of Nzeamaka during the Zambia game. Him still never gree answer:

Is this panic or frustration?
Who is not in the squad that is available?
Names please....

Gotti, like porn, I might not be able to define or describe it, but I will know it when I se it. For me, looking at the fullbacks especially dude on the left, I couldn’t understand how he constantly made the wrong (poor) decision.

The team was. Poor team. Could be coaching could be quality of players involved.

I used to be an Internet Naijarian but being here has shown me that hardly anything in Naijaria is done via merit. Sad truth.

Players are constantly in search of God fathers to help them stand a fighting chance to be selected.

I wish I had the time to watch and follow league games so I can authoritatively tell you who is better. Then again, my criteria for a better player might not meet your own definition of a better player. For one, if you have a low football IQ, I don’t care if you are the next Okocha you ain’t playing on my team until you understand and are willing to embrace the fundamentals of the game.

I think I am one of the longest-serving CEs “on the ground” so that doesn’t wash...

Always reiterate that what may be true in the general is not necessarily true in the particular...
The FACTUAL REALITY is there is NO evidence that these are NOT the “best” players AVAILABLE!
