The Azubuike and Nwakali
Hype merchants can now let us hear word small, two overrated and useless players.

I have seen Azubike play. He is good. The current Dream Team just sucked.
On Nwakali, he needs prayer and fasting. It obvious he is living on the past. The unfortunate situation about football, if you don't...you will not reach your potential. Its obvious he's out of shape, and form.

Re: The Azubuike and Nwakali
Both have been overhyped and they played side by side in the same midfield and they both sucked terribly. Simply not good enough. Back in the days Mikel used these age grade tournaments to shine well well. How we won that bronze in 2016 is still a mystery. One mark of a quality player is he elevates the performances of those around him.ANC wrote:Tobi17 wrote:Hype merchants can now let us hear word small, two overrated and useless players.

Azubike is poor. And he is regressing due to age.ANC wrote:Tobi17 wrote:Hype merchants can now let us hear word small, two overrated and useless players.

Just look at how Aribo turns up for the SE and is now a regular. Always balling. Same with Ndidi and Etebo, who have overtaken Azubike.
This tournament has finally exposed him.

How does one regress due to age at 23? Is that not an age that his career should be on the rise?Lolly wrote:Azubike is poor. And he is regressing due to age.ANC wrote:Tobi17 wrote:Hype merchants can now let us hear word small, two overrated and useless players.

Re: The Azubuike and Nwakali
If Azubuike is all you saw was the reason for us crashing out, then you absolutely don’t know anything about football. I put it to you that two Aribos wouldn’t have done jerk with the team, and coach we had.

keep deluding yourself. A good player will definitely make the people around him better
Re: The Azubuike and Nwakali
I have seen Aribo play several times this season, and I actually believe your statement is appropriate for him in the reverse as well. Don’t get me wrong great player, but he thrives in the super eagles, because their are many good players that get the best out of him.john12 wrote:keep deluding yourself. In Rangers at times, he actually looks disinterested. You can start pulling up all sorts of stats, but I tell you he would have done very little with the form of most of those players in the u 23 team, and the tactical input of the coaches.

Re: The Azubuike and Nwakali
A player that has scored 6 goals for rangers this season and 2 in 3 for Nigeria it's clear that you need to see an optician

But you keep berating us how Nigerian players are so "poor" that losing to Madagascar is OK!

Azubuike arrived Egypt on Monday....maceo4 wrote:Kai what about those calling for them in the SE? Them go allow us rest?
And played 2 games within 5 days without any prior training with the team.
So, he had a poor tournament (with the rest of the squad)...
That does not make him a bad player (even if Rohr does not think he fits his team).
Coaches are looking for partivcular types...
Afterall, we are talking about the same SE that had Uche Agbo for about 2 years.

Re: The Azubuike and Nwakali
Agbo was training material sha, but me I have no issues with him being invited, but he better show what he's made of cuz right now competition is hot in SE. Even Omeruo can't get a start anymore, Etebo sef once he returns might find it hard to get a starting spot.Gotti wrote:Azubuike arrived Egypt on Monday....maceo4 wrote:Kai what about those calling for them in the SE? Wait a minute is Omeruo part of this current team?

Re: The Azubuike and Nwakali
azuibikwe is not ready for this SE.
no way.
Kelechi is not even ready for age grade tournaments. Let me not hear his name again, unless he starts tearing up some league.
all those who were saying that "its hard for African #10's in europe" please just shud da hell up.

Re: The Azubuike and Nwakali
I wouldn't write both of them off yet. Nwakali is very rusty and not match fit. If he's able to build up his fitness and develop in the lower divisions in Spain, he could possibly return to the national team in 1-3 years. Dele-Bashiru should have played in this tournament instead of Nwakali.
Azuibuike has been good in Turkey. He wasn't great the last 2 games, but overall play from the team was disjointed. He can still return to the national team if he improves. Case in point is Ramon Azeez.

Re: The Azubuike and Nwakali
Azubuike is good and he just played in a poor team. I would judge him on club form rather than U23 football.ANC wrote:Tobi17 wrote:Hype merchants can now let us hear word small, two overrated and useless players.

I am happy
Re: The Azubuike and Nwakali
Don't be in a hurry to discard players after every disappointment. 2 years ago Nigeria failed to qualify for the U20 African Cup (talk-less of the U20 World Cup proper) with a team replete with Victor Osimhen and Samuel Chukwueze. Yet those players are now national team stalwarts.
Azubuike is a solid player who potentially gives us depth in central midfield; while Nwakali should be just fine once his permit comes through and he settles down at Huesca.

Re: The Azubuike and Nwakali
If Azubike’s club peformance was that good, he would have had better clubs on his resume after captaining our bronze medal winning Olympic team almost 5 years ago. The guy is very average, same as Esiti, as Mikel Agu. This tournament just exposed him. I have consistently said he is not a very good player. But time will tell if I am wrong or right.Dammy wrote:Azubuike is good and he just played in a poor team.
