Ademola Lookman keeps World Cup options waiting on England
Loooku looku looku,....Laaafu lafu lafuThere is some thinking to do, though, where his international future is concerned. A senior England call looks far off, even though he seemed primed for that when he shone in the Under-20 World Cup win two years ago, and Nigeria – his parents’ homeland – remains an option. The England setup keep in occasional contact but he knows he has “a serious decision” to make with the 2022 World Cup in mind. “I’ve not changed my mind [on wanting to represent England] but I’m open and it’s good to have different opportunities,” he says. In three years’ time he will be “not at my peak but good, very good” – that self-belief again – and it is something he wants to demonstrate in Qatar.

Keep waiting on England Ademola, you would be waiting from your couch in 2022.
While you dey wait, your broder Joe Aribo and the Super Eagus would be balling on Qatarian green grass.

He is not good enough for Nigeria. He should market himself to Northern Ireland or something.
In 2017, I reviewed the English linked talent available to Nigeria.
I said we should go aggressively after Abraham, Tomori & Ejaria & even offer them a World Cup spot.
I have no qualms with the effort on Abraham (outside of Pinnick's inablity to make moves a bit more quietly). We totally dropped the ball on Tomori.
One look at him & it was obvious his talent was higher than anyone defender in the SE & any of the options available. Thankfully, there is good enough talent coming throug in the position, so it will not hurt as much.
We need to get Ejaria asap. We are thin in the middle with Mikel & Ogu gone.

He is not good enough for Nigeria at this point. I reviewed the 6 Naija boys on the English U-20 Cup winning side along with Tammy.
I think only Abraham, Tomori and maybe Ejiara can add anything to the Eagles (bench) over the next year. If you're calling Seyi Ojo, you might as well start beggin Sammy Ameobi (both are not International level players at this point, and will probably never be.)

We should go after Tammy aggressively.
He is a better prospect that Sadiq Umar, and we have a much better chance of getting him than Solanke.
Here is my analysis of the 6 Nigerians in England's U-20 WC winning side, as far as the SE is concerned.
1) Fikayo Tomori - We should go after him most aggressively. Can compete to be in the final 23 to Russia.
2) Ovie Ejaria - The SE midfield is loaded, and he may not make it to Russia based on options, but he is a long term prospect, and should be tracked.
3) Josh Onomah - Same with Ejaria, even though I rate Ejaria higher.
4) Seyi Ojo - Needs to raise his game a few notches to have a senior level international career with any country. A southpaw with pace is never a bad thing, but he'll need to add maturity and intelligence to his game. He has too much of 'Isaac Success' going on.
5) Dominic Solanke - No need to pursue. It will be a fruitless effort. His heart and mind are with England and it will be tough to convince him otherwise with the Liverpool move. He also does not brong any qualities we don't have in abundance elsewhere.
6) Ademola Lookman: His best option is with Nigeria, but he is drinking the English media cool aid at the moment and it will be be tough to even get him to look our way. Sadly we have seen this happen before, and he seems destined for a few meaningless caps for England.

This was to be expected,it's time to understand these boys have more than one option and the the majority of them seem to believe that there's always a chance with England,I think Nigeria should stop looking for players that are not better or complementary to what they already have.Maja and Aribo are gems!

Re: Ademola Lookman keeps World Cup options waiting on Engla
This is a total rubbish from him. If he is waiting for an England call up then he can go on waiting(may or may not happen). This is a guy who hasnt kicked a ball for RB Leipzig this season, and l don't see it happening soon, and thinks Southgate wil call him up. If eventually gets the call from Southgate, then not because he thinks he's good, rather to spoil naija chance of capping him. Anyway, l don't think he's better than current naija players for same spot in the SE.
“I’ve not changed my mind [on wanting to represent England] but I’m open and it’s good to have different opportunities,” he says. Sorry Lookman, you dont have "different opportunities". You cannot bake you cake and have it at the same time (although it's possible in the modern world now) and l think it's time NFF would stop courting such players. The motto should be, if you are approached once and you decline then it should be goodbye and no second time asking!!!
