U17 PLayer Signs for Austria Salzburg

As expected and despite claims that none of these kids will get signed, here goes one news story:
REVEALED - Golden Eaglets captain completes move to Europe

Nigeria national U17 team, Golden Eaglets, Captain Samson Tijani has completed his move to Europe after months of controversy over his ownership status.

Tijani who captained the five-time U17 world champions to this year’s FIFA U17 World Cup in Brazil has reached a pre-contract agreement with Austrian giant Red Bull Salzburg.

The pre-contract agreement of the 17-year-old midfielder was reached with his parent club Collins Edwin FC on Friday in Austria, his father was also part of the negotiation to give Parental consent.

“Tijani and his Academy have reached a pre-contract agreement with Red Bull Salzburg, he will be 18 next year May and he will sign a professional contract in May 2020. His Father and the representative of his Academy were in Austria to complete the process,” A family source revealed to me.

The deal is valued at €400,000 for five years with several add-ons depending on his growth and progress from 18, the decision of his Academy to choose Austria among all offers he had was to ensure the boy gets a team to develop him.

“He has several offers from top European clubs, but his Academy considered the history of many young players from Nigeria that signed for the big teams as a teenager and failed to reach their potentials. It’s the belief of his Academy that Salzburg with their huge history of developing youth players will help the progression of the boy instead of going for the big money and big teams,” the Family source said.
The difficulties of statistical thinking describes a puzzling limitation of our mind: our excessive confidence in what we believe we know, and our apparent inability to acknowledge the full extent of our ignorance and the uncertainty of the world we live in. We are prone to overestimate how much we understand about the world and to underestimate the role of chance in events -- Daniel Kahneman (2011), Winner of the Nobel Prize in Economics

So he should wait in Nigeria and earn £25 weekly until he’s 40 years old?He needs to start somewhere and being a youth player straight from Africa from an academy what was you expecting?

It seems you can't even differentiate between transfer fees and personal wages...esp given he cannot at this point sign a pro contract...
Some of you are such dullards...
Form is temporary; Class is Permanent!
Liverpool, European Champions 2005.

We watched this very boring video, 500 times, of Sacchi doing defensive drills, using sticks and without the ball, with Maldini, Baresi and Albertini. We used to think before then that if the other players are better, you have to lose. After that we learned anything is possible – you can beat better teams by using tactics." Jurgen Klopp

He sounds like the kind of old school African that gives kids the wrong advice and screws their careers up if there’s no knowledgable advice elsewhere!
