Super Eagles Goalkeeper Maduka Okoye Facing Uncertain Future At Fortuna Dusseldorf
https://www.owngoalnigeria.com/2020/01/ ... usseldorf/
January 14, 202003

The third choice goalkeeper of the Super Eagles of Nigeria Maduka Okoye is free to talk to other clubs outside Germany as his current contract with Fortuna Dusseldorf will run out in the summer.

Okoye has not been handed an extension by the struggling Bundesliga team despite his present status as an international player for the senior national team of Nigeria.

Although he was a part of the team training camp ahead of the resumption of the second half of the German Bundesliga, his future at the club is however far from certain due to his contract situation. ‎

He is presently the fourth choice goalkeeper of the club but a regular for the B team who are playing in the 4th division of German football. It seems he hasn’t done enough to warrant an extension.

His uncertain future could however be negotiated before the end of the season in Germany particularly if he gets the chance and impress for Nigeria when they play their international games in March.

Coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Gernot Rohr rates the goalkeeper highly and confirmed that it was his assistants that stopped him from playing the 19 year old in goal ‎during the last round of games where Nigeria defeated Benin Republic and Lesotho respectively.
The difficulties of statistical thinking describes a puzzling limitation of our mind: our excessive confidence in what we believe we know, and our apparent inability to acknowledge the full extent of our ignorance and the uncertainty of the world we live in. We are prone to overestimate how much we understand about the world and to underestimate the role of chance in events -- Daniel Kahneman (2011), Winner of the Nobel Prize in Economics
