OwnGoal: Scouts Don't want Nigeria's U17 Players....

Well, two of those players have already been signed and moved to Europe.
European Clubs Rejecting Nigeria U17 Players After Poor Showing At World Youth Championship

Almost six Nigerian players who took part at the recently concluded 2019 U17 World Youth Championship have been turned down by clubs in Europe, Owngoalnigeria.com understands.

The Nigerian team was the toast of scouts before the start of the tournament judging by how well players from the team have progressed in past editions but this time around most scouts admitted that they didn’t see any player worth investing in the Nigerian team.

So far only two of the players have secured deals abroad with captain Samson Tijani set to join Red Bull Salzburg while Olakunle Olusegun has joined Russian Academy ‎side Vista which is the nursery team of Danish side Fremad.

” So far three players of the team are negotiating deals that are more like developmental as they will spend like a year on trials. The rest have been rejected. Yes as many as six were rejected by clubs that I won’t mention”, an agent revealed to Owngoalnigeria.com.

” Beside the fact that the team didn’t do well, the players individually didn’t help themselves. So it has cost them and I won’t be surprise if only two get deals abroad. It’s sad because Nigeria have a pedigree of producing good players at this level”, he concluded.

What a stupid narrative;
make peaceful change impossible make violent change inevitable.

"It depends on what the meaning of the word 'is' is. If the--if he--if 'is' means is and never has been, that is not--that is one thing. If it means there is none, that was a completely true statement....Now, if someone had asked me on that day, are you having any kind of sexual relations with Ms. Lewinsky, that is, asked me a question in the present tense, I would have said no. And it would have been completely true."

The coach seems like he is not it. This types of things will hurt the national team 5+ years down the road. There is a wide margin btw how football is played in Nigeria and Europe. The types of players Europe wants are not making it into the final cadet teams in Nigeria and that's on the coaches.

So should the coach's goal become using the type of players that Europe seeks? or should it be developing players that are good enough to win and eventually make it to the SE? Or are they one and the same?

Can they continue to develop at home? The focus seems to make it to anywhere in Europe as soon as possible. From private academies to Europe. They've become assets of agents unwilling to let them go to the local clubs but opting for quick sale to anywhere with green grass in Europe. The Europeans themselves, are opportunists looking to buy cheap young african players and hoping to resell them. If they're too good for the local league, we have a problem.

Aside from 2-3 players, this team lacked any players on the level of the past 2 u-17 teams.
Don’t know what happened with the scouting.
"Nigeria", Africas only true hope of bringing the World cup home to motherland.

U17 players shouldn’t have to leave Nigeria on mass but yes Nigeria isn’t an easy place to stay in!

Actually it is job to find them. Better players don't fall from the skies. That is precisely why Rohr has the likes of Agali, Adelakun, among others and he designates them as scouts. What do scouts do?

Read the title of the article,Nigeria shouldn’t wait for European clubs to scout U17 players before they know how good they are, if Nigeria fielded a weak u17 team then why wouldn’t professional European clubs not pass on them? It’s the Nigerian FAs Job to improve football at all levels and stop waiting for miricles!
