So Ejuke a midfielder with With 9 league goals and 1 cup for Heerenveen is clearly not on Nigeria’s radar! :scared:I don’t want to ask about the inclusion Musa a Balogun as I’m sure someone will explain.
And Maja has proven what he can do with the time he was given at Bordeaux but hey.....

Well if a Nigerian player is on form he should get an invite over a man who plays in the desert and a man who trains with Wigan!

If you notice, Rohr invited two new players already.
He seems to play things on the conservative side.

I agree,I’m not too upset as Ejuke is a former Nigerian youth player and at present has no other citizenship and Maja has played in a Friendly and by next season will probably be playing regular football at Bordeaux or elsewhere but I still think on form players need a look in over passengers!

Musa has proven time over time that he does the job in the GWG. So the tag of a passenger is a bit offensive.

Good list though.

Maja is a good player but he hasn't shown that he's better than Dresser and Osihmen, the 2 players who play the same position he does. If current form is what we're about then Umar Sadiq certainly deserves a spot over Maja who rarely even starts. The coach has a plan and he knows more than us, let him pick as he chooses.

I appreciate Musa’s 4 World Cup goals and 11 others he scored in various games but I don’t see what else he can do for Nigeria, he went to last years Afcon and didn’t do too badly but it seems as if he needs to choose when to call it a day (Nigeria won’t stop selecting him until he says so) , he’s playing football in Saudi Arabia which is fine for him but I doubt it he was thinking about football when agreed to do so (at the age of 24)!

And here I was thinking your gripe has to do with performance.

Let me get you right, so long as you play in Europe, you can be invited to SE irrespective of the level of crap you display. If you are one of our better players and play in the Middle East, you have no chance at all.
Ok got it. Makes perfect sense to me.

@Cito Well that’s been the standard ,it used to be Europe but it’s as long as you don’t play in Nigeria (that much isn’t going to change anytime soon) so Saudi Arabia isn’t the problem it’s just that Musa seemed to give up on a challenge in a stronger league (money was the lure) and left for the desert but still isn't lighting that league up so yeah you’re first thought was right this is about performance!

Musa has already started dropping hints that he may soon retire from the SE.
That was sometime last year. I still think he is too young though.
He should concentrate on being the best he can be.

if musa was from the southern or western part of nigeria, will he be derogated as much as he is now? no. A player like Kanu never scored a single goal at ANC but you igbo guys never questioned his relevance until Kanu retired. but when it comes to musa, everyone wants him out despite being a proven winner for club and country. we should learn tonreapect everyone irrespective of their tribe/religion/name ETC. In a country where the likes of Kanu, Okocha, emenike, Martin's never got 1 single "world cup goal" someone that got 4 should be respected because he is your World cup GOAT

Truth be told, it is not now that Musa will get his full due respect. It is after he retires.
Kanu is adored today but towards the end of his playing career he also received lots of insults, esp on the very matter you raise. Same with JJ. It is human nature and we tend to fully appreciate things only after they are gone.
So you do not need to keep harping on about Musa. He is still actively playing. He should be the best he can be and leave the rest to posterity.

You are not helping matters here by sounding like a broken record. You've made your point. Let history do the rest

Oh please give it a rest! Musa will not be to everyone's taste and it is nothing about North or South. Kanu and Okocha were widely criticised and so was Yakubu despite his impressive record. Personally, I wouldn't pick Musa in my first eleven even after all his goals in the world cup. To give you perspective, Kalu Uche is from the next village to mine but I didnt rate him even though he scored two world cup goals for Nigeria. Some of my favourite all time players - Tijani Babangida and Garba Lawal - are from the North. How can I forget Yusuf Mohammed, one of my Enyimba heroes of 03/04 (Hint - he is not from Umuahia)

This has to be the best Squad Rohr has put together since he took over. The forward line is on point the defence is on point the weak spots are the gosling keeping area and the lack of creativity in our midfield. But I love the squad.
