I am very pleased for Semi Ajayi

Post by Ayo Akinfe »

[1] Semi Ajayi nearly had a career destroying moment after his WBA lost to Huddesrfield last night
[2] If WBA had not got promoted, Ajayi may never have made it to the Premier League
[3] His form may have dipped with constantly playing in the Championship
[5] With the likes of Awaziem and Ekong playing top flight football, Ajayi may have fallen off Rohr's radar
[6] Thankfully for Ajayi, Stoke beat Brentford today, putting WBA back in second place and on course for automatic promotion
[7] All WBA need to do now is beat QPR on Wednesday and they are promoted to the Premier League as runner up to Leeds
[8] I see West Brom wining that game, offering Ajayi access to top flight football
[9] I also do not see Slaven Billic dropping him as Ajayi has been WBA's most reliable defender this season
[10] Ajayi has had a very dramatic last three years. Going from League One to the Premier League

Ekong and Ajayi were never in contention for the same starting position in the SE - Ekong plays on the right and Ajayi on the left in central defense.
Ajayi is still firmly in Rohr's cross-hairs, having posted very credible and strong performances in the SE's last 5 games or so.
I don't see either Awaziem, Omerou or Balogun's current forms changing that.
And if WBA make it to the premiership and Semi Ajayi retains his position on the team, that would only enhance his ability to retain his partnership with Ekong even further.

Things may not be too bad as:

Awaziem was on loan so will be sent somewhere else by Porto
Apparently, Levante want Omeruo

Eze puts WBA on a tightrope again by scoring a brilliant equaliser in the 60th minute.
2-2
Final game of the season.

Barnsley who were second-to-last on the table desperately needed a win...
With the win and losses by Birmingham City and Middlesbrough, they escape relegation on the final day.

WBA limped over the line, one point from their final 2 matches. They need quality signings to survive the EPL.
Congratulations to our boy, Semi Ajayi.

Did Ajayi play as a RB today? Eze scored as well.

Nope. His usual centreback position.

Pinnick, now, go and sign up this Ebere “JJ” Eze

I no blame them as the boy is pure gold. After the game, Slaven Bilic was even trying to woo him.
