I am getting numerous rumours and statements coming from Leicester city is that Ndidi will be used as a makeshift CB this seeason if needed.

If that is the case, It is time for him to look for a new club and leave asap. it will destroy his career. He will be an average CD and that will render him irrelevant.

He needs to have a quiet word with Rodgers that he cannot play that role and stamp his foot. he is not a nobody that can be left on the bench but he could be if he just nods his head and obeys the coaches command and his replacement in the DM does half as well as him.

I think Ndidi started his foorball career as a CD. No need to panic until we see him playing CD and stinking up the joint.

...defensive midfielders tend to transition well to full back position after a wealth of experience and he has played DM for long to understand the role.
Same thing with players on the wings going from wing midfield to straight wing back.

I don't think Rodgers really improves African players. His history is very questionable

He'll be fine if they need him to fill in at CD for a few games.

Ndidi cannot simply look for a new club, unless he wants to move to Watford, west ham, crystal palace etc
He should be wanted by the big clubs.
However, none of the big clubs considered him.

If Ndidi can play in that position well it'll just prove his versatility it won't be "the start of his fall",I know he has a wealth of ability and if he wants to leave Leicester which ever clubs signs him will surely benefit!

Well he did start his career as a CB playing there in 2 U20 World cups, he even played LB and RB in Belgium before they made him a DM. It makes sense for someone that excels in tackling and Interceptions

Ndidi didn't do well as a CD in his earlier stings, he was actually awful at the U20 WC.

Ndidi played as CB for 60 minutes just last weekend in Leicester's final preseason game against Blackburn Rovers and was one of the best players on the pitch. Brendan Rodgers has said that might be used as a CB for ONLY this weekend's season opener away at Semi Ajayi's WBA on Sunday, because Jonny Evans is suspended while Wes Morgan, Benkovic and Fuchs are all injured and may not be fully fit in time for Sunday's game.

However, at the same press conference, Rodgers also said that, while Ndidi has all the attributes to do well as a CB (ariel strength, tackling, anticipation, recovery speed, etc.), he would aLWAYS prefer to play him at DM because he is one the best DMs in the EPL.

Ndidi was an Average CB and that is putting it nicely....Versatility is not a good thing in football...

We don’t want our star DM to all of a sudden become a jack of all (defensive) trades...master of none. He must not let himself become a gap filler...1or2 games yes but anymore....time to go

He wasn't special but neither was "awful"...smh

He was decent enough at both the Toulon Tournament (where he partnered Semi Ajayi in CD) and the 2015 U20 WC...
Furthermore, in his first season at Genk, he played in at both CD positions (as well as in both RB and LB positions btw).

Btw.....what Rodgers says and what he says are two very different things...ask Divi(Origi) or Mario

Marcel Desailly and Sunday Oliseh were just two of the more high-profile of many versatile players who played very well at CB and DM positions (Oliseh simultaneously while playing CD at Ajax and DM for Nigeria). Even Mikel Obi, the one-time AM infamously converted into a DM by Borinho, occasionally filled at CD for Chelsea to great effect.

Anyway, indication is that if it happens it will be for ONE game, so please put the Alabukun Powder away!

What Rodgers says is different from what Rodgers says? OK...back away from the powder slowly.

Meanwhile, Leicester has reportedly made a Eu29 million bid to St. Etienne for CB Wesley Fofana (having already reached agreement on personal terms for a 5-year contract). Certainly does not lend evidential weight to the notion that they are planning on playing one of the best DMs in Europe at CB throughout the course of the season.

I was going to say it is a bit weird for someone who is (theoretically anyway) looking at things from the Eagles perspective (as opposed to Leicester's) to say "versatility is not a good thing". You never know when you will be playing 10 against 11, needing to redeploy your personnel depending on who has been sent off, and you never know when a tournament team (i.e. a fixed squad you cannot change) might suffer injuries or suspensions. It is always useful to have players you can deputize to alternative positions, regardless of if they are "world class" at those alternate positions. Versatility is always a good thing.
