Close-ups of the fabric itself and its fine design details are even more impressive.
NIGERIA'S NEW HOME KIT IS A FUNKADELIC MASTERPIECE

Shut up and take our money.
It is clear that when it comes to their football kits, Nigeria are Nike's chosen ones. They are the nation the sports apparel giant have singled out for their most experimental, iconic, drippiest looks. Whilst other countries may get generic templates or more traditional garb, Nigeria are different. Nigeria deserve more. Nigeria demand a bit more imagination and style.

Ahead of the 2018 World Cup, Nike bestowed this outrageous beauty on the market - and to say the public lapped it up is an understatement. Nigerians and non-Nigerians alike went absolutely mad for it. In fact a whopping three million people pre-ordered the shirt, and shoppers queued outside Nike's flagship store in London to get their hands on the stunning outfit.

If anything, the new Nigeria home jersey is even better. As explained on the superb FootyHeadlines, the gorgeous design was hand-drawn and actually derives from traditional Nigerian Agbada robes. It incorporates a number of different hues of green, whilst featuring subtle light grey motifs on the white central body. In a departure from the previous design the badge is central, and 'NAIJA' is written on the inside neck.

The overall effect is just sublime, and we wouldn't be surprised if this new vintage goes on to break the astounding sales figures of the previous uniform.

What will be our iconic style? Exactly what you see in the new jersey, which is a green stripe on each side and a large middle stripe of white. (also reminiscent of the Atlanta 96 jersey which we used to flog Brazil and Argentina).

Round it off with solid green or solid white shorts and solid green or solid white socks(mix and match according to opposition).

Let's do it! SE forever!

I'VE ALWAYS CALLED FOR THIS...

...a national jersey that's unique and easily recognizable, one that evolves to keep up with the times but not one that necessarily changes every world cup cycle. As for what it should look like, throw it open to Nigerians to design. Personally, I feel jerseys should be simple and clean - I don't like jerseys that are too busy, like some of the ones on display here. Countries like Brazil, Germany, Argentina come to mind.

My sentiments exactly especially on the ‘Too busy‘ part. Nike is really loving this freedom to experiment without shackles.
