Bulldozer passes on to the great football pitch in the sky

Post by cic old boy »

Nwabueze "Bulldozer" Nwankwo, of Enugu Rangers and Nigeria in the 1970s, has died. A powerhouse midfielder with a bulala shot and a throw-in that was like a corner kick.

RIP
I remember when his presence on the pitch was feared by defenders and goalies.
We don't have anyone like him today.

May his soul rest in peace. What I remember is his long throw in that was only rivaled, at the time, by two others in Nigeria's top flight --- Tony Ottah at Insurance and Moses Otolorin at IICC. Rest In Peace, Bulldozer.

Rest in Peace Bulldozer...
Form is temporary; Class is Permanent!
Liverpool, European Champions 2005.

We watched this very boring video, 500 times, of Sacchi doing defensive drills, using sticks and without the ball, with Maldini, Baresi and Albertini. We used to think before then that if the other players are better, you have to lose. After that we learned anything is possible – you can beat better teams by using tactics." Jurgen Klopp
