Wilfred Ndidi - Underrated?

Post by Cally »

I came to Eagles Nest to add my voice to the thread hailing Ndidi for his performances in the EPL, moreso his performance today against Liverpool. To my surprise, I did not see any thread on that.

I daresay Ndidi is underrated and under-appreciated even on this Nigerian site. This guy, in my opinion, is among the top 5 defensive mids in the world right now. This season, he has added terrific passing, and less fouling to his game.

He's the main reason Liverpool did not tear Leicester apart in the first half, which allowed the likes of Vardy to score and win the MoM.

For once, let's just celebrate our own, cause if he wasn't performing so well, I'm sure there would have been a 10 page thread here cursing him out.

I saw only the 2nd half but thought he was superb.

The NBC commentators said their MoM was between him and Barnes, that he does so much of the dirty work and even had an assist.

Ndidi is the next Super Eagles Captain and IMHO should be in line to captain Leicester - unless he moves on, which is likely.

Another excellent example of youth investment in Naija, still waiting for the harvest of their overseas screening, training and investment.

Like I said on that other thread some weeks ago, no Nigerian alive can compete with Ndidi.

Nigeria cannot find such a person. hell! Leicester cant, thats why everytime Ndidi comes back, it doesnt matter how amazing choudhary and mendy have been, they go straight to the bench and clap from there.

No DM in the EPL can even compete with Ndidi. I remember when they had the guts to mention Holjberg in the same sentence as Ndidi because Ndidi was out injured. :rotf: :rotf: :rotf: :rotf: :rotf: :rotf: :rotf: :rotf:

What Nigeria should be doing is looking for a plan B (different tactic) when Ndidi is not available.

the way they hype all those english born players rejected by the 3 lions over the likes ok Ndidi, Kele, Osimhen etc... one will think those championship players are world beaters... and there is one specific houseboy of the current coach of Nigeria with an avatar of a monkey wearing a doctor's outfit, who has constantly championed and punished CE with trash players solicited for the SE... not to talk of how he goes on shouting **** is the best thing since sliced bread

In some ways he is underrated. In my opinion though, he doesn't get more notoriety largely because he's a defensive specialist, and not a two way midfielder. Those type of CMs are typically in higher demand.
