Re: ES vs Enyimba
Irrespective of your tantrums, the weather is an issue. I watched Enyimba lose 6-1 to Ismaily in 2003 and they went on to win it against the same opponents. Yes, the quality if NPFL teams has gone down but to discount the weather is clueless. Enyimba needs to focus on getting something from their last two games - they were always likely to lose to Setif away.Adisboy wrote:Stop the useless excuses! Weather had absolute zero impact. Even the weather is North Africa now is more conducive to playing football that in Nigeria now. They are in the spring. Let's face it, the coaching, setup, mentality are all wrong. The NPFL level is poor because of this. If we keeping using the weather as an excuse it means we have no hope and there's no point as the weather is going to be what it is year in year out.aruako1 wrote:The comparison with Orlando Pirates and weather is clueless to say the least. Are you not aware that South Africa has temperate weather? This week Johannesburg and Algiers have similar evening weather. Imagine the SE losing its star players to Europe every few months. That is what the likes of Enyimba have to cope with.Adisboy wrote:Not just a conclusion, a fact! That is the story in the NPFL and even worse on the continent. Go check the first and only time we lost to Benin Rep was away for the qualifiers for CHAN 2018. The mentality is either to draw or lose by a low margin away. They always boast of how they are going away to win but end up playing so naively. All the excuses of weather, why hasn't it affected Orlando Pirates who are unbeaten so far. We should stop making excuses and tackle the problem. Can you imagine the SE getting these type of results, Rohr would be crucified.wanaj0 wrote:What a conclusion!Adisboy wrote:So disappointed. Why are our homebased players so weak mentally especially away from home.
Re: ES vs Enyimba
Oh dear. Given some of the shocking results that Nigerian club sides produce, it is incredible to think they are from the same country that produces the Nigerian national football team which is one of the strongest in Africa.

To say that weather have no impact on player performance is ridiculous! Even wind speed affect performance.Adisboy wrote:Stop the useless excuses! Weather had absolute zero impact. While tactics/coaching can try to compensate for this reality is that weather can become an advantage for some teams.
Same reason why we try to play matches at 4pm when it is very HOT.

And they ended up winning the group!!! With all the superior teams Adisboy was admiring in the group.aruako1 wrote:Irrespective of your tantrums, the weather is an issue. Yes they did. But it doesn't answer the nagging question on why they are sooo woeful away from Aba. That is bloody annoying.aruako1 wrote:And they ended up winning the group!!! Re: ES vs Enyimba
You had the answer- their travel arrangements were not ideal. They were often tired and unprepared for the weather as a result. Enyimba has traditionally had a decent away record.Yes they did. But it doesn't answer the nagging question on why they are sooo woeful away from Aba. That is bloody annoying.

Home Based bashers are not happy Enyimba won!

They are waiting for the quarter finals for Enyimba to lose.fabio wrote:Home Based bashers are not happy Enyimba won!
Re: ES vs Enyimba
Nope. The answer was because they are MENTALLY WEAK. That says a lot about the teams in their group.aruako1 wrote:You had the answer- their travel arrangements were not ideal. Kpom!! Don't mind Aruako1. What travel arrangements stopped them from at least getting a draw in Port Harcourt in the pre-group stage? The travel arrangements excuse is extremely flimsy especially as the excuse is used on THREE consecutive away games!wanaj0 wrote:Nope. The answer was because they are MENTALLY WEAK. Re: ES vs Enyimba
So mentally weak that they scored in the 95th minute to clinch qualification. It doesn't matter that, for instance, they arrived Libya, with different weather on match day.wanaj0 wrote:Nope. Re: ES vs Enyimba
Maybe they didn't get a draw in Port Harcourt because they faced a good team and sometimes teams lose away. Why don't you looked their away record in the league. As at April 14 they had played 8 games away. They won 3, drew 3 and lost 2. Home teams are notoriously on top in the Nigerian league.Adisboy wrote:Kpom!! Don't mind Aruako1. You can call Enyimba many things but "mentally weak" is not one of them. They won a group where the home teams were mostly on top. And they persevered until the last kick of the game to win it.
