Ikhana teams up with U-23 in Sol Beni

COACH of the victorious CAF Champions League winners, Enyimba International of Aba, Kadiri Ikhana, has joined the national U-23 team currently preparing for the Olympic qualifier against Senegal in Abidjan, Cote d'Ivoire.
Ikhana left the country yesterday with two more players, Obinna Nwaneri of Enyimba and Rabiu Baita of an undisclosed foreign club.
Although the NFA Secretary-General, Taiwo Ogunjobi maintained that Ikhana would be in Abidjan as an observer, it is expected that the former Nigerian international will still make some technical input to the team called Dream Team III.
After the U-23 team settled for a 1-1 draw with Tunisia in Bauchi a fortnight ago, the junior national team appears to be walking a tight rope in its quest for a qualification ticket to the Athens Olympics.
Ogunjobi stated that contrary to rumours making the rounds over who is in charge of the U-23, Coach Musa Abdulahi remains the chief coach.
