He surely had to be everywhere!! 77 passes! That is an extraordinary involvement.
Those are the kind of stats you get when your team dominate possession and given they are fighting to win the league has started to become the norm. Here are his stats for their following league victory where he completed even more.

The other Kelechi
Very impressive long range passing. I just pray he continues to grow into the top player we all believed he would be come.
He’s still young, just delayed small.

Nwakali is a player I rate very highly, he's in my opinion the closest player we've seen in a prime Mikel Obi, superb football IQ and all...something just doesn't add up about his career cause he should be playing at a better level, maybe off-pitch discipline issues? I'm glad he's finding his feet again. He's still young.

Good Passing range ! My worries is his size. He needs to add a bit of weight or bulk up a bit.

That is a gap in our knowledge only the coaches that have worked with him can answer. We as fans can only speculate and hold an opinion from our restricted viewpoint.
But he is talented, no doubt.
We just want that gap in his game identified and addressed before he gets too old and it’s too late.
I found this interesting article on ‘late bloomers’ in the game. It contains a list of top ballers like Drogba, Immobile, Klose, Vardy, Wright, Gomez and others who were almost anonymous and really didn’t amount to much until their mid to late twenties and then boom!, they exploded.
So ‘young’ is relative and for Nwakali, the time is NOW.

Actually, completing only 52 of 77 passes is not very good for a central defender (because most of their passes are usually short 5-10 yard square passes to their CD partner/FB or back to the GK). Playing 25 passes to the opposition in one game is alarming.

Even Whoscored notes Nwakali is great at two things: key passes and set pieces. Two of our weak points. He's not our DM, he's our playmaker / CM.
Do we honestly have a better option anywhere? Who?

CB: Gabriel Osho - 8/10 - Saw plenty of Salah, and matched up well against the Egyptian. Like his partners, the aggressive Osho defended the Luton box expertly.

Osho and Ogbu deserve to be looked at. I am sick and tired of seeing Ajayi getting callups. Dude is crap.

CB: Gabriel Osho - 7/10 - Kept Rashford very quiet and can be thoroughly satisfied with his afternoon's work.

Wowo missing out on goalkeepers in Nigeria. I guess they need to bench warmers in Cyprus to get a SE invite.
Kingdom Osayi
Olurenke Ojo- already part of the setup
Amas Obasogie just called up
Christian Nwoke
Kayode Bankole

That Kingdom Osayi from Doma in the local league looks like a good player. The kind of player that needs to be groomed by the national team coaches. I recommend calling 4 goalkeepers for Afcon camping. Don't call Uzoho or Nwabili or Adeleye.
