At Akwa United, a 19-year-old young talent is making a significant impact in the Nigeria Premier Football League – Wisdom Ndon.
The teenage center-back stands out as the only player of his age group to feature in all nine games this season in the Nigeria topflight division, showcasing remarkable consistency and talent under the guidance of new manager Fatai Osho.
Despite his youthful age, Ndon has proven himself as a pivotal figure in the team’s defensive line, having completed the full 90 minutes in each match, amassing an impressive total of 810 minutes on the field. Albert Hilary (19) is arguably the most in form CF in the league so far with 9 goals + 2 assists in 13 appearances so far. He has a total of 16 goals in 31 appearances for Plateau United
Alex Emeka (the tallest guy in these pictures) (19) has been performing pretty well in his first season in the NPFL after being a top performer in the HIFL (University) league

Kazeem Ogunleye has added yet another finish from outside the box to add to his already impressive catalogue for Rangers. That makes it 9 goal contributions in 17 games and I'll be very surprised if he's still in the league next season.

It is rare to see full-backs be so influential that almost all build-up play goes through them, but that’s how good Emmanuel Michael has been for the Nigerian youth national teams. At just 17 years old, he not only executes his defensive responsibilities with aplomb, but any set-piece within a 30 metre vicinity of the opposing goal will have him chomping at the bit to fire in a deadly free-kick. Beside the set-pieces, Michael’s most devastating asset lies in his ability to loft precision crosses to his strikers from the flanks, crafting ideal opportunities for attacks in close proximity to the goal.
