Ferguson signs new deal
Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has agreed a new 12-month rolling contract.
Ferguson, whose current deal runs until 2005, has been at United since 1986 and has won eight league titles.
Manchester United chief executive David Gill said: "We are very pleased that Sir Alex has signed a new contract with Manchester United.
"His fantastic record speaks for itself and his appetite for the game and his desire to build a new generation of world-class players at Old Trafford is undiminished."
John Magnier and JP McManus, whose Cubic Expression company own over 25% of shares in United, threatened an extraordinary general meeting if they did not agree with the length of Ferguson's contract.
