If there’s no soft tissue tear, bone fracture or dislocation, a sprain or contusion is the most likely diagnosis. With icing and therapy he can recover in a short time. They’ll give him a couple injections in a couple days and he won’t feel a thing until he lands in Abuja with the cup. If it’s not torn or broken, Nwabili is playing on Friday.

It looks like an ACL injury….

His tournament is gone.

On a brighter note, if it’s just MCL Sprain, he might be ok with daily cryotherapy

Its an impact injury though, which is consistent with him still feeling pain. Meaning days of rest is what's needed, unless a scan proves otherwise...

The pain he is experiencing is probably due to the swelling in the knee due to liquid buildup. Once the knee is drained and cortisone injection is applied he should be okay. They also need to apply cold compression to reduce the swelling. His immediate problem is pain tolerance. How much can he absorb?
He will most likely be out if there is any form of knee tear - ACL or MCL
Good luck to the young fella!

Has anyone thought about the intent of the Cameroun player that jumped into Nwabali? It seemed like it was intentional to get him out so they could face Uzoho? Nobody will jump into the goalkeeper without any intentions like this dude did. He should have been red carded!

Yes. For example, two athletes knocking knees together will most certainly generate disability and extremely severe pain but quite often, the victim recovers in a very short period of time, perhaps, even within the hour🤔❗️

Cheers.

yrs in football….

He landed with a twisting mechanism to the knee… Doctors here will tell u.

Also he sustained a Valgus stress to the knee…that leads to MCL sprain

Remember, I said, it looks like…..

Look at how he fell..

Watched the match in a room with physios and doctors + yrs in football

They all said ACLat the time…. That does not mean that they are right though

Give him some steroids (prednisone) in his knees. Would help relieve pain and wear off before next game, as far its not an acl/mcl/lcl injury.

He landed awkwardly after a jump.
