I am getting old ooo. It felt like yesterday I was watching him @ U-17 in 2007 final against De Gea. Times do fly.

His bio and the vast number of clubs he has been at has “journeyman footballer” written all over it.

Remained active as a pro for 17 years in Europe after many swore that he was 25 or so at the time.
I remember their U-17 coach (Yemi Tella) that passed on shortly afterwards.

That might be our worst U-17 in terms of unearthing talent. Lukman Haruna was the only player from that set that made any kind of impact for our national team.truetalk wrote: ↑Tue Feb 06, 2024 2:09 amVery impressed with the career he made for himself.wiseone wrote: ↑Tue Feb 06, 2024 1:42 am His bio and the vast number of clubs he has been at has “journeyman footballer” written all over it.

I would say the the 2007 set were just like the 2001 silver medal set of Femi Opabunmi, etc. However, in 2003 we had the likes of Mikel and Ogbuke whom actually developed in to Super Eagles materials. This is despite the 2003 set been eliminated from group stage. I believe age was a major factor among other thingspackerland wrote: ↑Wed Feb 07, 2024 1:05 amThat might be our worst U-17 in terms of unearthing talent. We don’t know how far the 2003 team would’ve gone. We lost out to an unlucky draw because we were tied with Costa Rica in all categories (pts, GA, GD etc.). I completely forgot about that 2001 team with Opabunmi. We got nothing from that set. Even France the eventual winners had Florent Sinama Pongolle as their best players. He ended up with 1 cap for France. You’re right about the age factor.onovo wrote: ↑Wed Feb 07, 2024 1:24 amI would say the the 2007 set were just like the 2001 silver medal set of Femi Opabunmi, etc. However, in 2003 we had the likes of Mikel and Ogbuke whom actually developed in to Super Eagles materials.
