KF Tirana coach, Ndubuisi Emmanuel Egbo, says he would not turn down a chance to coach the national team.
Egbo recently made history in the Albanian league when he led Tirana to win the domestic title, the first Nigerian and African to achieve such feat in Europe.
Speaking on Thursday during his appearance on Channels Television’s Sports This Morning, he described coaching the national team as a call to service.
The former Super Eagles goalkeeper also thanked the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and Nigerians for their messages since his team emerged champions of the European country.
According to him, though he has spent much time with in Albania, he is still a Nigerian and would welcome any opportunity to help in developing the nation’s football.
‘Like Military Service’
“It is beginning to sink; the massive achievement we made over there,” he said.
He added: “I’m 100% Nigerian even though I have a European passport. I got everything in Nigeria and I played at the highest level so anytime I’m called upon to come and help, to raise the football of my country up, I will be there because I want us one day to be challenging to win the World Cup.
“I’m always open; we can never say never to our country, it’s like a military service that anytime we are called upon we have to do it for our country,” he explained.
Domestic Double
KF Tirana who are celebrating their 100th anniversary this month, can also claim a domestic double on August 2, 2020 when they face Teuta Durres in the Domestic Cup final.
Coach Ndubuisi retired from football in 2011 and went into coaching, becoming the goalkeeper coach of Albanian team, Bylis before he rejoined Tirana in 2014 in the same role.
The Nigerian, was, however, promoted as the Head Coach of the Albanian side in 2019 and, has remarkably, led the club to a league triumph in his first season in charge.

He's Nigerian and if the Albanian league is a professional league I don't see what the problem is

I dont think its about the leaugue - its about giving others a chance - we have recycled oyinbo and nigerians in the past , we have hired a nigerian from backwater league as you call it in the past ( oliseh ) we have hired journey men oyinbo , bribe taker nigerians etc etc.
So why NOT him ? why give amuneke, finidi, sia one , salisu a second chance ( or third chance ) ??
So while not special nothing make anyone we are touting special as well.

You have to understand how Nigerians think. If its not an oyibo man lord and personal savior, or a crooked criminal (Siasia and alisu), which makes them feel one with that person then it has to be the name they know in their head. Other than that, they cant see passed their finger-tips.

Egbo is a winner - Won 1 title, qualified his team for the UEFA Champions League and a super cup a few weeks ago

My only issue with Finidi is that I have watched him be part of the coaching crew of a team in the last 1 year and the team has been dreadful for 1 year.

He is upset that we said Finidi, Amuneke, Eguavoen, the crooked Siasia, the criminal Salisu and Amokachi have all gotten their chance and should go and look for jobs elsewhere. It pained him, so he is trying to lash out.
No one is saying Finidi should not be given a chance. We are saying that we should widen the pool, remove our collective ostrich necks out of the deep rotten hole, look outside the box and make a proper selection out of a group of solid coaches who are certified winners! Is that too much to ask? or do you prefer that we do what we have always done and give the job on a platter to someone because you loved him when he was a player?
