Nwosu, Bameyi, Daga, and Frederick were all in the last U20 set. Would have preferred to try new players, however, I'm ok with them being invited again.
To be fair to Bameyi, he did justify his inclusion with his performance at the last U20 world cup. Suprised he hasn't joined an NNL or NPFL team yet.

With Bosso, quarter final is the farthest, and we are getting dumped out once again for sure. Imagine the U17's soundly beating his U20 team in a friendly. The only thing we can be assured of a decent tactical dispay while the talents on the field will be far from the best available in the country.
My dream is for SiaOne to handle both U20 and U23. He has an excellent eye for talent, and will supply an endless feed of players into the SE. Manu Garba/Amunike should be permanently in charge of U17 (no more promoting them to U20 I beg). Since this trio left our youth setups, we haven't achieved jack.

That is not important. How many players are close to the senior national team?

Feel free to do some digging then as this player is the odd one out of the list from my research. That’s not how it works (or should work)…
While there are about 4 or 5 players from that frankly underwhelming U17 squad, it shouldn’t be like the Nigerian civil service where you get promoted apparently just for being alive. Players should have to EARN their “promotion” to each level.

Both Manu Garba and Amuneke “transitioned” their U17 world champion squads almost wholesale to the U20 level - with decidedly varying outcomes. Nonetheless, it one thing to effect a virtually wholesale “transition” of a WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP-winning U17 squad but another to do so with an underwhelming squad that couldn’t finish in the top 4 of the continent.
