I am firmly of the opinion that the star striker should be taking penalties. It eases the pressure and that's always a good thing. He missed a lot of good chances that he normally buries and I think it's all down to nerves.

That said you are hundred percent right. Lookman had 3 goals but Osimhen was our most important player not named Ekong or Nwabali

Yeah I know, he puts pressure on defenses, blah blah blah di blah, but is not the primary job of a striker to score goals? 1 goal in 7 games at a major tournament as a striker! One! If he was a more reliable striker we would have appeared at the 2022 WC and we would have 4 AFCON trophies right now. Verdict: When the chips are down, Osimhen is not a reliable striker for Nigeria.

He should take time now before fans start calling him Osi-miss or Missi-mhen.

You're being a little unfair to Osimhen. Remember Obafemi Martins? We first of all heard about him here on this forum. He was plying his trade in Italy. Obafemi's fast reflexes always caught the Italians by surprise! He was the talk of the town and it all came crashing down after leaving Italy. As for Osimhen, he's quite accurate with his headers and nothing else. To the vertically challenged players around him, he is a Goliath on steroids. But back to Africa, we know he is a one-trick pony. Only complete players like Okocha, Oliech, Kanu et al deserve the APOY.
