Re: AFCON 2025 ( Mid July to August 2025 )
CAF agreed to move it to the summer 3 or so years ago,in fact Egypt 2019 was a European summer tournament and it was supposed to remain that way but Cameroon and Ivory Coast obviously didn’t invest in stadia that can deal with the West African raining season.
The raining season will return every year so why would African nations that experience an expected natural phenomenon build stadiums that are only useful in January?

A tournament is not only about the conditions in the stadium. It is also about the fan experience. The last AFCON would have had a worse fan experience if it had been pouring rain all the way. Football is played in Europe in winter but there is a reason why they reserve the Euros for the best weather.Eaglezbeak wrote: ↑Wed Feb 21, 2024 8:41 pm CAF agreed to move it to the summer 3 or so years ago,in fact Egypt 2019 was a European summer tournament and it was supposed to remain that way but Cameroon and Ivory Coast obviously didn’t invest in stadia that can deal with the West African raining season.

The FIFA World Cup in the Americas (USA, Mexico and Canada) will be in the very hot and humid months, June and July.aruako1 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 21, 2024 9:11 pmA tournament is not only about the conditions in the stadium. They will tell you they care for the footballers and the fans. They are lying.
It is about how they (FIFA) can make the most money in this case how CAF, FIFA, and the clubs can make the most money.

I agree about the players but isn't summer the best tournament period for fans in the US and Canada?Cellular wrote: ↑Wed Feb 21, 2024 9:55 pmThe FIFA World Cup in the Americas (USA, Mexico and Canada) will be in the very hot and humid months, June and July.aruako1 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 21, 2024 9:11 pmA tournament is not only about the conditions in the stadium. The Stadiums in Dallas and Houston all have roofs and AC, which Summer heat will affect football...abeg make we hear word. Let the CAF host get with the program and get up to day infrastructure. 2024 and we are still buying excuses for incompetencyCellular wrote: ↑Wed Feb 21, 2024 9:55 pmThe FIFA World Cup in the Americas (USA, Mexico and Canada) will be in the very hot and humid months, June and July.aruako1 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 21, 2024 9:11 pmA tournament is not only about the conditions in the stadium. 100% with you,CAF need to set standards if a nation wants to host a tournament they need to be able to stick to planned date and be able to build stadia that can deal with their geographical climate all year round.Bigpokey24 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 22, 2024 8:34 pmThe Stadiums in Dallas and Houston all have roofs and AC, which Summer heat will affect football...abeg make we hear word.
