There is no reason to resign. He can stay as an assistant. But I do agree, he should be named the new coach. The Egu interim coach nonsense is really stupid. What is the point of an interim coach?

He should resign ke? He should apply for the Job - its interim so Nigeria should do a proper recruitment process and Finidi should apply .

So they are now going to start the recruitment process? Wow. They must be living on the moon if they didn't know Nigeria needed a long term coach since July of last year

rightly offered the incumbent a right to stay - he was given a goal which he exceeded and was rightly offered a renewal, how would they have started recruiting ? Now that he has said he is done they can start recruiting . how hard is that to understand even if its not what you wanted ? that NFF actually tried to honour an agreement and do things the right way is a good thing lol.

In reality you never stop recruiting talent. Always maintain contacts even if you have a coach. Because you never know when you will have a vacancy.

in July of last year. There was a chance Pesiero wouldn't come back. They finally negotiated a deal that saw his wages reduced to 50K and he had to pay his assistants from the 50K. He came back in September just before the start of WC qualifiers.

At the end of Afcon on 2/12/24. They hold meetings to see how things have gone. They could have made a final offer and then ask are you staying or not? If he says he needs time. They should remind him they made the same offer to him at the end of group stages and Nigeria needs a decision. If he says he needs more time. Tell him, we can't wait any longer. Take it or leave it. If he says no. Start contacting potential candidates, hold interviews by zoom.

Egypt and Algeria that both fired their coaches, have already appointed replacement. You can interview and appoint new coaches in less than 2 weeks. But in the case of Nigeria it will take 6 months. They want to pocket the salary of the coach. First they will say they need to advertise the vacancy for a certain period of time. Then they will say they need to source for the money to pay the coach. The typical NFF shenanigans.

Also the NFF told us that they had a replacement already and that replacement won't be a local coach.
