I don't but I live in the real world. The NFF will hire the coaches. Finidi will be consulted.packerland wrote: ↑Mon May 06, 2024 8:29 pmYou make head shaking statements at times. You want the man to work with someone who more than likely has a different football philosophy from his. Let’s not forget the impact of work chemistry. The honest people here protested when they got rid of Waldrum’s assistant and gave him one of their own coaches. Finidi should be allowed to pick his own assistant.ohenhen1 wrote: ↑Mon May 06, 2024 6:56 pmEven Peseiro and Waldrum didn't pick all of their assistants. In the case of Waldrum they forced him to remove one of his assistants he brought from the US. The NFF will pick the assistants. Finidi should accept that but work to try to get a compromise on who they pick.

The reality is that it is the NFF who hires those assistants. It will be just courtesy to consult Finidi. Nothing more.
Note that the NFF does the same for the foreign managers. The only difference is that the foreign managers negotiate a far larger salary and from that salary they hire their own assistants who then work alongside those hired by the NFF. Note also that assistants hired by the NFF are not on regular wages but are only paid for time with the national team.
Thus, if Finidi wants to control who will be assisting him, definitively, he will have to pay such assistant[s] from his own wages.

What I am confused about is why Finidi does not appear to already have his team as a professional coach.
A serious and professional manager would already have his team- assistant, physio, GK trainer, analyst, etc.
And in his case it would be from his job at Enyimba in which case his contract fee would include the pay of his assistants; irrespective of whether the NFF chooses to have their own assistants...

We watched this very boring video, 500 times, of Sacchi doing defensive drills, using sticks and without the ball, with Maldini, Baresi and Albertini. We used to think before then that if the other players are better, you have to lose. After that we learned anything is possible – you can beat better teams by using tactics." Jurgen Klopp

And that’s ok with you? This means that Amokachi and co could be his assistant whether he likes it or not. Now I don’t blame the rumors.Enugu II wrote: ↑Mon May 06, 2024 10:01 pmPackerlandpackerland wrote: ↑Mon May 06, 2024 8:29 pmYou make head shaking statements at times. Well, Finidi better be negotiating a bigger salary, otherwise he shouldn’t take the job.

Did you also call Rohr and Peseiro an unprofessional coach for not having theirs teams in place?txj wrote: ↑Mon May 06, 2024 10:17 pm What I am confused about is why Finidi does not appear to already have his team as a professional coach.

They both had their assistants from Day 1, as you would expect from all professional coaches.
Even Siasia had his...

I do not think it is OK. However, it is the way the NFF conducts its business.
For Finidi to get around it, he has to negotiate a much bigger pay than is usually offered to indigenous managers. That way he can directly pay his own assistants.
