I won't place too much emphasis on JAg not celebrating the goals. When you set a standard and don't achieve it, it is only natural to be hard on yourself so you can get yourself motivated. Every striker has at one point or another experienced goal drough and unfortunately this is what JAg has to deal with.
Expecting JAg to pretend he is happy someone else has stolen his thunder, I say no way. Why be a hypocrite? He is not happy he is not scoring, let us see it in his eyes so we know he is not oblivious to it.

2 of the finest indigenous coaches Nigeria ever had lost in a space of 4 days. Dear Lord, is this a sign that you are taking away from us what we failed to appreciate? I pray for forgiveness of our sins. I pray for the humility to recognize our wrongs and the humbleness and wisdom to right our ways.

ok, so his behaviour after the goal had something to do with the fact that he had not scored any himself...in Essence bad belle because his"thunder" had been stolen..and u know nobody likes a theifI won't place too much emphasis on JAg not celebrating the goals. Is this not a team game? Are these players not representing their country? SO basically you are saying that JAG is a self-centered, little brat who is only out there for himself rather than the 10 other players busting their tail on the field and the millions rooting at home for him.
Why wouldn't he celebrate with his teammate? What if every other player adopted the same attitude towards him when he was in the limelight, banging in goals and doing somersaults.
COme on men, this is a team game and there is a no "I" in team.
If you are not scoring, then work harder and when the breaks come, make sure you bury them, but dont compound your situation with a punk @ss attitude...'Nough said

JAG had his golden moment when he was 1-on-1 with the keeper and should have buried the goal with his left leg, but decided to slip it under the keeper with his right, which the keepr eventually stopped.
Osaze 's feat is a wake up call on all the remaining strikers - Kanu, Uttaka and JAG to shoot at sight and no fancy dribbling into the net.
JAG and Uttaka (especially), should stop trying to copy JJ and Kanu's dribbling styles because only goals win games.

This is one of those threads that make me want to just use HAND enter computer and DIRTY SLAP some people. The logical deductions and conclusions that some of You make are so Parochial, Narrow Minded and Petty that One has to wonder if You folks ever keep your minds out of the Gutter long enough to think Positively on anything at all.
The Fact that JAG hardly celebrated OSAZE's goals proves NOTHING and in any case isnt even true. One could see him clapping after the second goal. Furthermore this is not the only game JAG has played in when someone else stole the show. He is not even the lead striker at his club for goodness sake, neither was he the lead striker when Playing at the U-20 and U-23 levels

If he is not the lead striker at his club then there is no reason for him to feel bad because the spot light was never on him..presently,on the Nigerian team he is our No 1 striker...he is the Dos Santos, the Mboma, the Kanoute, the Titi camara of the Nigerian team and as a result we have high expectations..There is nothng wrong if he feels bad that he hasn't scored yet...If utaka feels bad then i see no reson why JAG shouldn't feel bad...and remember that JAG is saddled with heavier expectations than Utaka.. It took osaze 25 minutes to do what JAG has been trying to do for 2 games...And to add insult to injury Osaze is an inexperienced rookie compared to JAg...This is one of those threads that make me want to just use HAND enter computer and DIRTY SLAP some people.

It happened on the CAVS team...LeBron James came and stole the spot light from everyone and he was just an inexperinced rookie...Davids(or whatever his name is) was not too happy...
this sort of behavoiur is part of being competitve, its human nature...some handle it better than others..
And na only u see JAG clapping his hands..
even though u say some peoples logical" deductions are parochial" why u no talk your own?...if u have a diffrent opinion simply state it, dont bite other people who gave thier own opinions...why was Aghahowa indiffrent to 2 goals by Osaze in the Match aginst SA...? lets hear your own logical spin on it...

I Have Nothing To PROVE or SPIN about Jag's Low Key celebration cos I really don't Know. But Unlike You I dont pretend to know everything while engaging in what amounts to "Character Assasination" based on pre- conceived Notions and Illogical deductions when I dont have all the facts in front of me.

This is not about us locking down the game already. The point is that he was standing right there hoping for a pass or an intersectio, but didint get it. Tell me this if JAG would have scored the 4th goal in that game, do you expect him not to perform his usual surmersulting rituals??I think you are making too much of the fact that JAG did not celibrate Osaze's goal. The truth of the matter is that Nigeria had the game won after the 2nd goal. The third and fourth goal were just icing on the cake. I can assure you that if Osaze had scored the winning goal in a tied game, JAG would have been there to celebrate with him. If you notice, the first goal had the entire team celebrating. The level of celebration for subsequent goals were not as intense as the first goal, and that applies to the entire team.
JAG has worked very hard in both games and has just been unfortunate not to have as many opportunities to score. Those who write his goal scoring obituary do so at their own peril. Just like Nigeria stormed back against SA after the Morroco debacle, JAg will come back strong for Nigeria when we need him the most. He will find his scoring touch in the elimination stages of this tournament. He might even give us a preview against Benin.

Come on people stop yarning dust!!!!
JAG and Osaze are the two ex-bendel insurance hitmen in the team. I dont think that JAG can be on bad belle.
Dont forget that there are and were all kinds of pressures on him/them in this game.
It shouldnt be too hard for him to hail Osaze after the game if need be.
BTW i dunno what tha heck Chukwu was thinking bringing in Ikedia b4 Osaze (Whose last name means "it has become a thing of laughter")against Maroc

I come in peace....
I think he probably felt that he was being sabotaged by the players who were supposed to feed him with passes. If you see the game again you will see that on 3 occassions Utaka refused to give Aga the ball even thought Aga was better placed to score. Utaka wasted 3 goals. Aga was right next to him.

They did not waste time in giving Osaze the ball. He may be thinking that if he were positioned where Osaze was, Utaka may not have passed the ball to him, but would probably have tried to dribble into the net. You can useless a striker by refusing to feed him the balls when you can. He has to talk to the coach and his team mates about this.

We never have all the facts in front of us in this forumn but we still decide to discuss,U never have all the facts but u still post what u feel, just like now.if u see a thread that u don't like feel free not to participate...nobody is forcing u..but just because u dont have anything smart to say doesn't mean that no one else should voice their own opinions...I Have Nothing To PROVE or SPIN about Jag's Low Key celebration cos I really don't Know. NObody claims to be clairvaoyant and u dont need to be to analyse the situation based on what facts we do have..lllike u said they are simply"opinions" and everyone is entitled to one...
On the version u watched JAG did not celebrate "wildly" on the one I watched he did not celebrate at all and this is what the discussion is about..maybe u should start your own thread about why he didnt celebrate "wildly"...maybe u can accuse people of imagining on that thread...
And like said b4 what JAG did is normal..it happens at diffrent competitve levels..it is human nature...no one is saying he is a bad man for doing it..so accusing me of "chartacter assasination "is your own illogical conclusion...

Conspiracy Theories and Parochial Thinking are a Hallmark of the Ignorant, the Uninformed and the Uninitiated. Clearly there's no shortage of such types on this forum so I guess You are in Good Company. BUT At the end of the day You simply dont Know why Mr Aghahowa failed to celebrate Wildly despite Your many suppositions.
While I certainly cant deny You the right to Opine Freely, I do want to remind you that A right to free speech is not a right to malign another's character. In other words the very notion of free speech implies MORAL RESPONSIBILITY otherwise it's no longer free but but rather liicencitious , reckless and/or malicious.
In any case you are indeed free to "opine" as You wish but in the same vein I'll simply "Opine" that Your posts are "Gutteral" and worthy of no further response from me. So have a Good evening!

ola34, don't create something out of nothing. You have to be careful with you say cos you can easily create dishamony amongst the players. I did not see any period in time when Utaka refused to pass to JAg, neither did anyone else.
I think what most of you want is for JAg to do his surmersaulting ritual anytime a goal is scored by Nigeria, regardless of he scored it or not.

Maami.. take am easy. this is just individual opinion. The fact that a guy who is known for goal celebration fails to even show his teeth when a teammate scores should be a matter of concern. as blake said this is natural, but I hope this don't generate into some goal scoring contest among players.Cristao wrote:baprophet wrote:This is one of those threads that make me want to just use HAND enter computer and DIRTY SLAP some people.

this is team sport, if one of the team members score, everybody has to celebrate with the goal scorer. kanu is a striker, he always celebrate with anybody that score goals. If Jag wonna score goals, he should come outta his shell and open up to recieve the pass and stop looking for loose ball to tap in all the time. anybody can tap in a loose ball, yobo did it excellent against south africa.

This thread is another classic example of evilness, vindictiveness, always looking at things from a selfish point of view, a typical naija strait and many more reasons why Nigeria with it's people will never progress. Juts because Ozaze score two goals now all of a sudden shows he is better than JAG, he is the player of the moment, he is the man but when the same Ozaze doesn't perform tomorrow or in the next game everyone he gtes crucified from the same evil and narrow minded fols like you in here who know no better or see any better in things. Shame on all of you.
JAG had a good game and was very effective upfront whether he scored or not and had a good game giving the SA defenders some tough times during the match. Just because he doesn't score all of a sudden he is not good enough wow...
JAG remains SE striker/forward and will always be the man until the day he retires. I am happy for Ozaze that he scored and good for him but he still has a lot of learning to do....He is nowhere near JAG right now...
