Is it fair to say that football is only a game?

I feel that football(and sports in general) have been taken beyond the realms that its supposed to be. Now lots of money is involved and it now SEEMS like more than a game and it really bothers me sometimes.
The amount of money going around is just astronomically increasing each season.

Football is everything. When i was in primary school, it was because of football that knew countries like lesotho, mozambique, zimbabwe etc. It is because of football, that other Africans can really come to gether for an event considered special. It is because of football, Nigeria is United, even Cameroon. Football is more than just that ball you kick on the field bro. It is everything.
