Ese Brune win ... bronze for women's long jump. Well done! Neck-and-neck between her and USA's Reece before Germany's Mihambo came out of nowhere with that last jump.

We have a medal!

Ese Brume finishes with the bronze medal. She was pushed into second place by Reese after the fifth round. Then Mihambo of Germany, in third place after the fifth round, won the gold medal with her final jump. Just an inch separated bronze, silver and gold. Well done Ese Brume❗️

Cheers.

Why is she so hard on herself, rather than being relaxed, when other people are jumping?

Yes they do, but are their times when it turns negative.
It may have in this instance as she never improved with the jumps that mattered that most.

The scheduling for our favourite and most popular track events are a bit awkward for us here in UK, most of the time they end up showing us their ridiculous stuff like BMX racing and those cycling things.

Please help us gents and let's say warn us of the upcoming track final events like 200m, 800m etc and what times so maybe we can look out.
The broadcasting over here is a bit poor, maybe the time zone differences also play a part.

Oborududu, Brume get Tokyo 2020 largesse

Silver Medalist Blessing Oborududu and bronze medalist Ese Brume have been rewarded with their promised cash of $10,000 and $7,500 respectively.

Oborududu and Brume were presented their cash by the Honourable Minister of Youth and Sports Development Sunday Dare in a ceremony held at Grand Prince Hotel, Tokyo Japan.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Minister said :”There’s no point delaying the reinforcement of these athletes who have made the country proud, that is the reason they were rewarded immediately for their record-breaking performances. ”

Chioma Ajunwa was the first person who won gold medal for Nigeria in the women’s long jump event at the Atlanta 1996 Olympic Games , Brume thus follows suit with a bronze; while Oborududu is the first Nigerian Wrestler to win an Olympics medal.

In her reaction, Oborududu said: “I am just super excited and I want to say thank you to all my supporters and the Federal Government of Nigeria for the encouragement.”
