Akinyemi might be in big trouble in the Canoe Slalom...depending on if he can improve in his 2nd run,

Buhari, whose two terms thankfully ground to a constitutional halt in May. (One thing both democracies have going for them is that their leaders, however bad, have only two terms to swing the wrecking ball.) Under Buhari, growth per head also plunged to 0. An economic agenda drawn from the dusty pages of a 1970s protectionist handbook failed to do the trick. Despite Buhari’s promise to tame terrorism and criminality, violence flourished. Despite his reputation for probity, corruption swirled. FT

LBJ has taken over the game completely. Would be surprised if France can get back into the game.

Doug Collins and the other commentator keep making disparaging remarks concerning Nigeria and Tunisia. Hope the team is paying attention.

They've said about 4 or 5 times now how neither team stands a chance of making it into the knock-out stage, and how they serve as good practice for the USA before playing Lithuania and Argentina.

As I've said many times. They will beat every team they face by double digits, unless multiple players somehow have off-nights.

if I could count the many times we have heard commentators say that about teams,
and end up eating their words..

I guess they have nothing better to talk about in regards to the current game.

Spain probably stand the best chance if somehow a confluence of cosmological forces conspire in their favor and the stars align. They will need their A game, while the USA will have to be on their D game. You will need a combination of Durant, Kobe and LeBron to have a bad game...or Durant, Melo, LeBron etc..
