Brazil 2014: Super Eagle supporters club launches album

The Nigeria Football Supporters Club (NFSC) on Monday launched an album containing songs for Super Eagles, to raise money ahead of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

The album was launched at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos with the President-General of the club, Dr Rafiu Oladipo as chief launcher.

The four-track songs, already in video and audio, was composed by 16-year-old Tomiwa Oderinde, who just finished his SSS 111 at Ogunlade College, Igando, Lagos.

The club’s band boys, trumpeters, mascots, composer and members added colour to the event, dancing, drumming and singing.

Oladipo said at the launching that the album was already on sale, and is meant to raise money with which to sponsor members of the supporters club to brazil for the mundial.

“The video is for sale not only in Nigeria, but worldwide and indeed in Brazil as part of efforts to raise money for members to be in Brazil for the Eagles.

“We are also going to do a special re-launching of the video while in Brazil to further popularise the composer and raise more money for the club,’’ Oladipo said.

According to him, the album is one of the efforts for the club to raise several millions with which to sponsor hundreds of its members to Brazil to cheer the Eagles to victory.

The composer, Oderinde, popularly known as Tomzy, said that he was motivated into music by his father Kayode Oderinde.

He said that the four-song track album has the lead song: “The Giant of Africa is Marching Again,’’ with the chorus: Up Nigeria, Up Super Eagles.’’

Tomzy’s father, Oderinde, who is also the Team Manager, Babatunde Raji Fashola Football Academy, told NAN that although his son was good in Economics, he has “a special flair for music”.
