I don't know about Italia 90, but Costa Rica were far and away the best Concacaaf team during the World Cup Qualifiers...I knew they were not losing 3 games in this group. I'm rooting for them to qualify for the second round.

I hope Nigeria can play with the composure and self belief these Costa Ricans showed today.
truetalk wrote:Thought Uruguay will win with experience and 'cheating', and the 1st half was playing out that way. I however, know Costa Rica was not going to roll over, as they went toe to toe with USA (and over Mexico) in Concacaf. Anyone who saw them in Italia 90 will know they come to a World Cup prepared (they qualified ahead of Sweden and just behind Brazil in the group).

Also , in Italia 90, Costa Rica came with the best goalkeeper I have ever seen in Luis Conejo. I saw this guy deny Careca and the Brazilians over and over again. It was like their game plan was 'Conejo will make saves and maybe we can sneak a goal on the break'. And it worked as they made the 2nd round.

Good to see they have continued in the line of great goalkeepers, as the current guy was in beast mode sometimes tonight.

Hasn't someone explained this on this thread already...or are you guys just looking for a reason to whine and bash Wenger?
Nothing wrong with bringing it up again, ...and again.
It always bothers the mind how Wenger thinks. Is he more about making money and less about trophies?
Great managers always want 'hungry' and ambitious players on the field rather than overfed vacationers.

Anyone who has watched Olaitan extensively knows that he is the best Nigerian player in Europe today. Injury apart, that he was not on the SE radar is beyond inexcusable.

We're all supporting the team and hoping for the best, but some things make you go 'Hmmmm!!! '
Just let this story rest nah, Nasri and Tevez also didn't make the WC team nah.

Initially because of work permit issues. I seriously doubt his wages would be a problem (and depending on the terms of the loan may already be part financed by Arsenal)

Given the paucity of strikers why would playing time be an issue.

Sometimes I swear your reasoning leaves little to the immagination. How can their player be un-affordable to them?

That first tackle is easily a broken leg if the CRC player didn't shift his leg backwards..I really hope Uruguay lose all three games..

So far the best game of the tournament. Costa Rica did not come to make up numbers. These guys can ball

Dude the guy lost consciousness on the pitch and you are under handedly Keshi bashing. How low do we sink on this site.
Don't mind them, they think they are saying something important by always bringing Nigeria into every discussion, and always negativity at that...all this before the ball is kicked
...more like they are waiting in the wings for SE and Keshi to falter and they will say, 'I told you so, my boy should've been in Brazil'.

The irony is that the Campbell you guys are hyping, plays second fiddle to Olaitan at Olympiakos. But Keshi know best I guess.

Please hush it. Those you claim are waiting on Keshi to fail have jobs outside of football and spend thousands of their own dollars to go watch the eagles all over the world, and you think they want the team to fail. Some others on this forum have even fought corruption on much bigger issues than football
I'm guessing you are on your couch in your apartment typing this rubbish.

What is wrong is wrong, and should always be pointed out, even as we support the team.
We hope to ride on 15 - 16 players, and of course the coach to take us to the Quarter Finals. Some people will watch the world fall apart right before them and have absolutely no insight to see what is happening
