With Ribery injured, Benzema has to take on the mantle of team leader

Coach, I also have this feeling that France might do much better than we all have expected up to now. No expectations. They seem relaxed. They do have some good players.

For once, can France be greater than the sum of the parts without a clear and true midfield general?

That's what it will come down for me.

As for the sum of the parts, France sure has looked it their past few games.

Let's see.

Cheers, Mate

Mate, that's the problem.................France has never done jack in football without a 'true midfield general' . I mean real midfield generals like Platini  and Zizou  ..............................Ribery is just a 'regular' player compared to those two giants.
I won't be surprised if France fails to make it out from this group....................nobody flatters to deceive like the French(without a real midfield maestro).

Zee, I don't know if Coach is kidding or not...but his literal suggestion is resonating with me.

I make fun of France exactly like you do, on there historical ineptness without a Platini or Zidane type.

But this might be different. Let's see if they've learned a thing or two in this context. DeChamps is a WC winner. Their league is improved. And I think they learned some bitter lessons from that last WC fiasco, with the in fighting and revolts.

I'm definitely intrigued.

Cool. For a moment, I thought ' what in the world is coach thinking?'

The odds are not bad, but they won't win. I think Pogba is a midfield general BTW, for those questioning if France has one, and I think France will do well, hopefully even knock Argentina out in the 2nd round.

For one, I don't trust Lloris, and he will get found out in tough matches.

Pogba will stamp his authority over this tournament #clutchesbettingslip. The loss of Ribery will inspire Greizman, Benzema top scorer, there or thereabouts. Sleep on Les Bleus at your own peril. 20/1, mouthwatering.

Pogba has been declared the best midfielder in the world by some experts even at his tender age, this world cup may be his red carpet moment.

Was this all before or after you rescued a village full of starving African children or after your stint in the American secret ops forces where you rescued the world from complete atomic annihilation?

Nvm, I know the answer.. it came after you rescued the world from Godzilla.
