Group seeding for World Cup!

Post by Tbite »

I think teams that perform abysmally in easier groups should be seeded into more difficult groups in the next tournament!

That way countries that actually play good football in tough groups are rewarded!

It is technically not fair on them! There should be a mathematical algorithm to determine how a team has performed relative to its group strength! If you are above a certain coefficient, you are rewarded in the next tournament with an easier group. If you don't you get a tougher group.

This will force teams that just come into tournaments, arguing about bonus...instead of preparing properly...to take World Cup preparation as a do or die affair! While teams in the group of death type situations can rest assured, that if they at least challenge themselves...in four years time, they will have it easier.

because some teams may not qualify..the coefficient is valid for two successive tournaments, if not claimed by the second tournament, the reward or punishment will be forfeited.

Furthermore, teams that fall below the coefficient in easier groups will have their group stage World Cup participation bonus....slashed to as low as $2 Million and teams that are at the other end...performing above the coefficient in easier or tougher groups can have it as high as $15 Million

You cannot just come into a World Cup perform abysmally in an easy group and walk away with 9 Million.
Buhari, whose two terms thankfully ground to a constitutional halt in May. (One thing both democracies have going for them is that their leaders, however bad, have only two terms to swing the wrecking ball.) Under Buhari, growth per head also plunged to 0. An economic agenda drawn from the dusty pages of a 1970s protectionist handbook failed to do the trick. Despite Buhari’s promise to tame terrorism and criminality, violence flourished. Despite his reputation for probity, corruption swirled. FT

Square root of Tiki Taka - Square root of Joga Bonito x Drogba + Entertainment Points (determined by CE vested members) = Tit'bite unit [technical coefficient for seeding purposes at the World Cup]

Utter nonsense. Seedings have no baring on creating a group of death. Only the top 8 teams are seeded. The remaining 24 are drawn based on region.

I am not talking about what you are talking about! I am talking about a NEW seeding system for the group stage, based on performances within the world cup. I believe you have not understood my post at all! Perhaps I should not be using the term seeding, but rather allocation.

So for example Australia would be rewarded for doing well in a group of death, while Nigeria in 2010 would be punished for playing like crap in an easy group in 2010. If Australia was in Algeria's group for example....Would they not qualify? So it is not fair! They should be rewarded for doing well! Not in the same tournament, but in the next tournament! By being given an easier group, rather than leave it to the odds!
