...you may have to prove it since both games will be going on simultanously, plus Ghana v Portugal will need an out right winner, so expect both sides to fight to finish.
Prediction, Germany tie the USA. Ghana tie Portugal.

Right now, it looks like CIV and Nigeria have the best chances of any African teams of getting to the round of 8 :!:

Cheers.

Still hoping the remaining African countries - Ghana, Nigeria and Algeria - make it through.

Here's my 2 cents.

I truly believe Nigeria will do it. Argentina is not that good. Messi cannot carry them the entire WC. They're going to be very tentative against a resilient and disciplined Super Eagles squad. So sure, I believe Nigeria will exact at least a tie.

Ghana and Portugal is tough to call. The Portuguese actually have something to play for. Most of all, Germany and the US might well tactically play for a draw. I honestly can't see Ghana coming through, but you never know.

Algeria is in a very good position, similar to Nigeria in needing but a draw. This will be a moment of truth for the Desert Foxes. But the same can be said for Russia, whom has to go for broke. I see parallels here with Greece vs CIV as well...especially in the physical fitness factor, ironically.

Odds are Algeria will advance. Russia doesn't seem to know how to play in the final 1/3 and will be hard pressed to find a goal. I think Algeria will find goals. I know football doesn't have the transitive law, but in this case, I am convinced Algeria beating South Korea and Russia tying South Korea speaks positively for the North Africans.

Still...it all comes down to the final matches. Nothing is coming easy. This is gut check time...and when a team's training and preparation really show themselves.

Cheers, Mate

If one thing i've learnt from this World Cup, it's to stop making predictions. Unlike Nigeria where we have our fate in our hands, Ghana is at the mercy of Klinsman and Loew. siddon look mode activated....

Stay in the group?
