A bunch of them okay in Scandinavia while others play in their local league

Campbell and Navas play in La Liga. Ruiz in England

They have one in the MLS too
Campbell is Arsenal player playing in the Greek league.

They went up against the likes of Uruguay, Italy, England and the Netherlands without conceding a goal from open play against any one of them. They went undefeated against them. One of the better WC Cinderella stories of all time. Many including myself expected them to lose all 3 of their WC matches yet they were inches away from playing in the WC semi-finals. It goes to show you how important player effort and coaching is.

Despite winning Holland looked like losers today. Van Gaal for all his genius failed to influence the match. Holland had all the tools in place to dissect a vastly inferior opponent yet LVG had his team playing the same brand of football from start to finish. Very disappointing performance and very perplexing coaching display by LVG. As for the Dutch players, Robben was contained very well by CR, Sneijder had his best match of the tournament while van Persie was awful. That Memphis guy was completely useless. LVG will have to go back to the drawing board before the Argentina match.
Do u always stuff like this to get noticed or were u watching another game.

Has there been a more organised outfit at this tournament than Little Costa Rica? Acknowledging their obvious comparative disadvantages, rather tthan follow trends and revel in its deleterious effect, they embraced an approach that concealed their weaknesses whilst complimenting their strengths. A truly marvellous achievement. How far Africa is behind the others grows all the more concerning. Our continent's contribution, mutiny, disarray, in-fighting collaged with magnificent flashes of brilliance, the tragedied love story. Far short of the fairytale. What a shame. A crying shame.

His playmaker was Mikel...

The others you listed were his attempt at finding the 3rd midfielder... it worked in some games and it failed in others. So is the nature of the beast...

You people keep hailing LVG like what he did was unprecedented. Puhleaze!! The guy knew he had a first choice goalie who cannot catch pks and waited to make sure CRC didn't score before making that move. There is nothing tactical about this! Jeez...some of una be novice oloun!!

In football the coach is allowed 3 subs. If LVG had made all his subs within 90 mins, then as the game went into extra time and eventually to penalties he would not have been able to bring on Kruel. Give the coach his due. He knows his players strengths and weaknesses and he puts his players in a position to succeed. That is tactics.

It can be said that his plan was always to bring in a keeper that can stop penalties. Yes he had three subs and there is now law that says he has to use the 3 in a match where they were comfortably on top for most part of the game. Many are judt drooling becaise they are seeing this for the first time, but hey if it helps Eyimba have done that before , i guess Ikhana or was it Emordi was a tactical geniuse.

Funny thing, Keshi didn't know he had two subs on the bench when he was losing the game in the 68th minute. He brought the second sub at 85th minutes about 20mins after his team was down 1-0. Was he thinking the game was going to extra time when he was losing by one goal?

Nobody says he does not know his players' strengths. If CRC had scored a goal Kruel wouldn't have smelled that field. Both coaches managed the game well. But let's not call it genius when everybody had a good idea the game was going to end in a draw. It was a risk. Again, if CRC had scored on their one shot on goal toward the end of the game we would be castigating LVG for not making subs when he could. Nothing genius or tactical about it. It was risky. Besides, in a game like this coaches try to bring in their best pk specialists anyways.

I don't think anyone is calling LVG a tactical genius on the basis of one match and much less one brilliant checkmate. Instead, the man has a history that anyone who has been following soccer for a minute or two should know and this checkmate sits glowingly on that of that history.

Leadership is a product of the "followership", of the culture's value system, and the basic character of every citizen. If we want good leadership and real change, it starts with each of us doing that "something positive" in our individual spheres of leadership.

In the round robin games, which weren't going to extra times or not having the possibility of a shoot out? Or in the game he conceded a goal in the 78th minute and didn't make a change until like 10 minutes later? Or had the game gone into shoot out, was he waiting to bring in Ejide for Enyeama?

I think the issue with Keshi was his poor bench, not that he wasn't holding on to subs. I've said that even Keshi himself was kinda scared of using his subs...emm interestingly enough he used all Tony Hari$$ subs at one time or the other sha.
