With the exception of their third GK, all their last name ends with "SON"...

Names are patronyms. It refers to their relationship with their fathers. Son of.....etc.

Son/Sen are two common suffixes, but there are others.

Are you saying that sson in Iceland means son of in English? how are you sure? Does generic prefixes or suffixes in our Naija names like mean son of?

Glad to see Salah made the team for Egypt

phew. :taunt: :taunt:

Na joke I dey joke oh, writing Salah is probably the equivalent of writing your name on an exam paper, or starting the ignition in a driving test.

Salah's place was so guaranteed that he probably called to ask if the coach will be on the provisional list.

Salah's place was so set in stone, that if it was omitted, FIFA would probably write a follow up letter querying about the typo.

I don't know if they have a player's gala, but if they do Salah's dietary requirements have long been accommodated for.

If bobo was not a shoe in, he will shoe himself in with that golden boot of his. #The Egyptian Messi

Egypt probably sent Salah's name to FIFA the every next day they qualify!

the big surprise is the omission of Wagner (Petersen was nominiated instead). Also Gündogan and Özil were not banned for their picture with Erdogan (as many supporters and journos demanded)

gutted for him, he deserved to be there... trapp?

Don't understand the inclusion of Trapp neither, yet to hear a reasonable explanation

Petersen has been in good form and scored more goals in the Bundesliga than Wagner over the past two seasons. He has height and ability like Wagner but also has a better poachers instinct. I think we all saw how he did against us in the Olympics.

Petersen has scored more goals than Wagner because he is the penalty taker (5 penalties this season alone). Wagner has been in better form than Peterson, too, and is generally speaking a better player

3 debutatants in Argentina squad. Where are those who are on hospital admission for developing cold feet against new players in SE. Oh, it's cos they are scared their players e.g Ahmed Musa will be dropped.

Argentina picking Icardi and Dybala shows some seriousness especially if they make the final 23. Thos guys will not miss sitters like Higuain sha.

#1 goalie Sergio Romero got hurt today, he will miss the World Cup

Alex Sandro of Juventus must be one of the unluckiest players in the world. He would walk into the first 11 of most teams in the world. Sadly he is unfortunate enough to be from the same country as, and play in the same position as, the first choice LBs of the European and world champions and the Europa Cup winners.
