When Pep wins a European trophy with Aberdeen and beats Real Madrid in the final (as Ferguson did), then we can revisit that question. I often say that Ferguson's best work was at Aberdeen, not Manchester United. Celtic or Rangers have won every Scottish Premiership league title in the last 39 years. Guess who managed the only team apart from Celtic and Rangers to win the Scottish Premiership in the last 40 years?...

Everyone has a right to their opinion but these sorts of comparisons are so strange. Pep has changed football in a way Ferguson didn't. Pep is ahead of him for me.

How has Pep changed football in a way that Ferguson has not? Pep is a brilliant manager but his entire career consists of managing the richest and best club in Spain 🇪🇸 , then the richest and best club in Germany 🇩🇪, then the richest and best club in England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿. He has never had to manage a down in the dumps club with no money such as Aberdeen like Ferguson did.

When Ferguson took over at Manchester United the club was not the financial juggernaut it is today. It was bottom of the league and staring at relegation into the old Division 2. Manchester United became rich because of Ferguson’s success.

In the 20 years between 1993 and 2013 Ferguson’s team finished 1st or second 17 years out of 20 (his lowest league position was third). In the 10 years since Ferguson retired Manchester United has finished second only twice and has not won the Premier League.
