Ruben Dias has been at Benfica since he was about 10-11 years old.

This is what I responded to - I didn't know you meant United's scouts were watching Benfica's feeder teams, when you wrote "Benfica team" the assumption on my part was the main team and that might explain why Ruben Dias was missed. He was never in the main team when Lindelof was scouted. Lindelof was fully in the main team between 2015 and 2017 (after an initial debut in 2013). Dias made the main team in September 2017 when Lindelof was already signed by Man United.

You wrote:
"A few years ago, they spent ages scouting a young defender at Benfica. The Benfica team they repeatedly watched had two CDs:
1) A strong, rugged, muscular CD with the physique of a cruiser-weight boxer, who loved to tackle, and was hard as nails. RUBEN DIAS
2) A light-weight CD who was not good in the air, gets bullied by strong strikers, and who had average size, speed, and was average in every facet."

I'm sure most Man United fans would agree with that.
For me, Lindelof and Maguire are simply not good enough for Man United but that's the new reality at the club for some years now.
Bailly and Tuanzebe consistently show their quality when featured even with match rustiness but they always get rewarded with more 'bench duty' even when fitness was not an issue. Tuanzebe rendered the likes of outstanding Mbappe and Neymar considerably ineffective, and Bailly needs no introduction. Maguire and Lindelof only show occasional flashes of brilliance despite consistent run of games season after season.

YemiBrazil - gotcha. Understood. We were “talking past each other” as they say. I was referring to Benfica as a *club*. I agree with you re Magalof. One is very immobile but strong. The other has average mobility but is not strong or good in the air.

The solution to Man U’s CD problem is probably already at the club. That solution is called Bailly and Tuanzebe. If they got paired together, that would be the fastest CD partnership in the EPL. If Tuanzebe can keep up with Mbappen and Neymar and keep them in his pocket (in his first game after 12 months out injured), he has nothing to fear in the EPL. Those two could sort out the CD position for the next 5-6 years.

  E no easy for fake fans and real fans.
Fake fans getting no joy because of Ole's decent performance so far and real fans don't want to get carried away only to get badly disappointed. The team has grown dramatically in team spirit, strength and character this season starting from that scandalous 6-1 loss to Spurs. All they need now as individuals and collectively as a team is a trophy. If they can somehow wrap up this season as Europa champions then something solid is brewing.

I didn't watch the game. Pogba must have been masterclass yesterday.

Yes Pogba showed up yesterday. Cavani turned it up too.

This is what I hate about fans.
Now the conversation is no longer
about these US owners but the
jokers who basically ran amok.

Kev, Trev and Bazza have been itching for an offing since the first lockdown, the ESL farce has given white working class Britain a punchbag. The powerless Prols just shutdown Super Sunday.

On the contrary, this is a very bad look for the EPL and the bright light illuminates the common denominator. Rest assured, this has not taken the attention away from the Yankee ownership. Many of the breakaway 6 will be worrying their fans will do the same. Comedy.

I gathered the breach might end in points deduction. If this happens and United misses top four, how does it benefit the fools who thought they could just take a stroll to the stadium and return as shareholders of a club :veryangry: :veryangry:

How many points are they suggesting will be deducted.

I doubt that will happen and at the very worst i suspect that the 3 points for that missed game will be forfeited to Liverpool, that's if the FA decide there's no slot for a rematch.

I don't see United missing out on top 4 because of the lost 3 points.

Unless they deduct more
