Rashford now has 42 goals in the last two seasons for Manchester United matching Romelu Lukaku's goal contribution in his two years in Manchester. Good record but has everything to do even better.
*Not taking anything away from Lukaku who has scored even much more in his two years at Inter where they are playing to his strengths.

Yemi, speak plainly. Are you suggesting Rashford is a better striker than Lukaku?

No I didn't suggest that. Just shared the info on Rashford's progress & used Lukaku's Utd record as reference for obvious reasons :D

Ole's United gave a perfect response to JM's Spurs today, it appears no one here was really impressed

United played some impressive stuff especially in the second half.

But they have done that to us many times before and then go on to produce some shocking stuff when it really matters.
And what matters this time is we are waiting to see Ole's United do impressive stuff in the Europa Finals.
Otherwise people here are unmoved :rotf:

Looking at the run-in, is it inconceivable that United end up winning the league? City drop points vs Chelsea, then have a Cup Final shortly after a midweek match away vs Villa. Outside bet well worth a punt.

  Ole's United dropping the ball when the stake is high and falling to 3rd place is a safer bet. Can't handle real pressure yet but getting more & more solid especially away from home. The team is currently more comfortable as underdogs but have all it takes to go all the way. All they need now is any trophy.

... trying to be smart to avoid what exactly? Rashford is not Lukaku's like for like replacement at Man Utd, that would be Martial. I criticize Rashford a lot and was surprised at his figures, that's all. Despite his shortcomings, I will take Lukaku back at Utd all day without a blink!
Well, I understand you need to reach 90k posts before weekend - you have our support

Not at all. This Man Utd team are the ultimate nearly team. In the past one year, they have reached the QF or SF of every single KO cup competition they have entered. Their output has been:

4 SFs - 0 wins, 4 losses
1 QF - 0 win, 1 loss

To that extent, finishing second is a perfect metaphor for their "nearly did it" persona.

Villa with the early lead. Long way to go. Leeds 2.0?

All sorts kicking off at United’s training complex. Kev, Trev and a gang of riff-raff storming the reception, aggro. Old Bill called in.

At times I wonder what Man Utd's scouts are up to. A few years ago, they spent ages scouting a young defender at Benfica. The Benfica team they repeatedly watched had two CDs:

1) A strong, rugged, muscular CD with the physique of a cruiser-weight boxer, who loved to tackle, and was hard as nails. RUBEN DIAS

2) A light-weight CD who was not good in the air, gets bullied by strong strikers, and who had average size, speed, and was average in every facet.

Which of these two CDs did Man U decide to sign? Option 2 (Lindelof). Now each of Man City are reaping the rewards/poison of their decisions. How Lindelof gets a game ahead of Bailly and Tuanzebe is an utter mystery.

I understand your point here as I'm no fan of Lindelof but this can't be factually accurate. Lindelof was already a Manchester United player when Ruben Dias made his debut at Benfica in September 2017.
