That's part of the fun. The randomness of it all.

Yea such randomness is so unique to the EPL.
Dortmund is in the relegation zone, and this is why

This weekend:Barcelona game - Suarez ran into the back of, and pushed over the Bilbao defender Xabier Etxeita. The ref realises that it is already three minutes into the game, that Barelona have not yet scored, and that Bilbao outrageously have 11 players on the pitch. So:

*Ref refuses to award Bilbao a free-kick for Suarez fouling Xabier Etxeita, Suarez runs into the box and 0.1 seconds later the ref remembers he has a whistle and sends off the Bilbao GK for a professional foul on Suarez. This occurred 0.1 seconds after he failed to penalise Suarez and Barcelona for a blatant foul on Xabier Etxeita.

*Bilbao have to play with 10 men against one of the best teams in the world for 90 minutes, and unsurprisingly lose 0-6.

La Liga "refereeing".

Exaggerating to prove that the EPL has the best referees in the world (including the best ball boys, groundsmen, kit men, etc)? We are used to it by now... :rotf:
Meanwhile, in the real world, even Bilbao players knew the ref was 100% right in that situation.

Yes, the Bilbao players were really convinced the "ref was 100% right". That is why they surrounded the ref for ages, vehemently protesting the injustice of the decision.

Real Madrid scored their obligatory weekly offisde goal (this time in the 1-1 draw against Real Betis). Betis were denied a victory after taking the lead. James was in an offside position when he received the ball to set up Benzema for the equaliser.

http://www.theguardian.com/football/liv ... -liga-live
Real Betis, clinging on for so long, take an unlikely point that could have been more seeing as Rodríguez was offside for Benzema’s equaliser.

Betis' resistance was ended when Rodriguez, who appeared to be offside, collected a throughball before squaring to France striker Benzema.

This week's installment of the La Liga "refereeing" comedy show:

Benzema scored (yet another) "goal" for Real Madrid from an offside position against Valencia while Valencia defender Mustafi was down on the ground with a head injury after a sickening collision of heads. The ref is supposed to stop the game for head injuries. Scoring an offside goal while the guy marking you is down with a head injury is scandalous, but it is Read Madrid, so the rules do not count. SMH.

...and I forgot the Luis Suarez goal after pushing away a Deportivo defender at a set piece. These travesties always seem to benefit Real Madrid and Barca.

Credit to Malaga for giving Real Madrid a competitive close game at the weekend. I feel for Malaga who lost due to another refereeing howler in favour of Real Madrid.

Sergio Ramos was offside (along with 2 other Madrid players) when he scored his second and ultimately decisive goal. Surely all three players could not have been inactive? Allowing a goal with three players in offside positions is quite special.

RealOjorophin vs BarcaOjorophin. Choose your pick, hardly can watch them play the small teams. The refs are in the center to keep the small teams in their place by robbing them of any hope or chance.

I could have mentioned that Suarez blatantly fouled a defender by barging him off the ball before scoring Barca's third goal against Eibar. It would not have changed the result but the fact that the Eibar players did not even bother to protest the foul shows how much they have come to expect unfair refereeing against them. Can you imagine an Eibar striker being allowed to barge Pique off the ball before running through on goal to score at the Nou Camp? He'd probably get a red card!

This week's installment of the La Liga Ojoro Show...

With Barcelona winning 1-0 at home against Leganes, Jeremy Mathieu brings down Leganés striker Guerrero (who was through one-on-one with Barca GK Ter Stegen). Mathieu pulled his shirt AND clipped his heels. Yet the referee waved play on, instead of showing a straight red card to Mathieu.

4 minutes later Leganes equalised. As soon as they did I thought to myself "the ref will find a way to give Barca a last minute penalty to make sure they win". Lo and behold...

In the final minute Neymar ran into the area, Mantovani (the Leganés skipper) tries to get out of his way (Mantovani actually crouched down on the ground, turned away from Neymar in a desperate attempt to show he was not going for the ball). Even if it was a foul (which it was not), the only call the ref should have considered is an indirect FK for obstruction. Yet the ref "manufactured" a last minute penalty which Messi duly scored to give Barca yet another utterly corrupt win.

This is Mantovani getting on the ground, trying to get out of Neymar's way:

This week's installment of he La Liga Ojoro refereeing show:

With the score at 0-0 Real Betis forward Darko Brasanac is clean through on goal one on one with Madrid GK Navas. Navas launches what looks life a flying body tackle on Brasanac and brings him down. The ref does not send off Navas, book him, or even award Betis a foul (despite the decades old FIFA rule about bringing down a player with a clean goalscoring opportunity)...

With Betis making a game of it and the score 1-1 in the second half, Betis player Pincini pulled the shirt of Vasquez, and the ref suddenly remembered he was in possession of a red card, and sent Pincini off with only 10 minutes left. Betis were threatening to draw or win the game and we cannot have that. So the ref decided to intervene and put a stop to the madness.

Here are still of what Navas did:
