A good example of how good tactics and philosophy need fire power in the way of backing with a big squad and correct players for the long run
Lamps was able to call upon loan players from Chelsea and they helped when it mattered.

Not specifically. Leeds' goalkeeper was a moron twice and then the last goal was a consequence of red card. Without the dumb goalkeeper, Leeds would have walked this.

Yes he failed; but he's also learnt a lot about the league; no?

The parachute payments mean doodle...Huddersfield is only headed south; snake no get reverse!

Liverpool, European Champions 2005.

We watched this very boring video, 500 times, of Sacchi doing defensive drills, using sticks and without the ball, with Maldini, Baresi and Albertini. We used to think before then that if the other players are better, you have to lose. After that we learned anything is possible – you can beat better teams by using tactics." Jurgen Klopp

In terms of defenders, no one beats our Arsenal's Mustafi.

He must be pinching himself lucky everyday wondering how he is playing for a Europa League side.

How did they miss the goalie's madness in the playoffs?

You cannot win a knockout fest with an unstable goalie!
In the end, however, the wisdom of preparing for the worst has its limits when — all things considered — it keeps us from doing what’s best.

The league is clearly a level above his abilities, should have joined the Prem if he wanted a cake walk. Also don't look now but the karma for the Moore sacking might be delayed.

Huge result yesterday. This season’s championship will be more blinding than a barney with Arthur and Tommy Shelby. Bielsa’s boys will need to be on it till the bell rings for the last lap. Much like last season, there will be no cruise control, should the Norsemen ease up on their stride once more, rest assured the pack will attack like Kipkoeches and Kiptanuis. A playoff dust up is certainly not ideal, they simply lack the fire power for such a gunfight.

Bilic bites back at Bielsa...loading.

Leeds need to do it this season and shouldn’t trust the playoffs as a valid route. Too variable. In truth, one would relish the return of the Norsemen, Leeds need to be back on the big stage.
