The loss against Wolves was quite telling. It exposed our lack of depth. It exposed our over-reliance on a few players. It showed the team has been carried most of the season by the same set of players. If you read MoPo's last presser before this match you will be able to tell his frustration and how he doesn't seem optimistic about our chances going there.
As it as it may this is the last match in the long holiday period. The lads have done remarkably well and have to go all out to finish on a solid note. They will have the weekend off to get the much needed rest. Cardiff, like Wolves, will sit back, park the bus and wait until the 70th minute to come and attack, hoping we would have ran out of energy. The lesson at this point is to never relax and assume the match is won when leading by a single or double goal margin. We have to keep going and pushing hard as we did against Everton and Bournemouth. We have the players to do it and they have to stand and be counted.
Although MoPo has indicated there is going to be 4 or 5 changes I doubt it is going to be that many. Aurier is back but I believe he is going to be on the bench ahead of Trippier while KWP will start ahead of them both. Danny should take his place at the LB. If the gaffer opts to go for 3 at the back then it is likely he will go for Foyth to join Toby and Sanchez at the CB. Lloris, as unassuring as he is at the moment, will keep his place since he is getting the league games while Gazzanigga get the cups. Although Skipp has started a league game I am hesitant to believe Poch will change the midfield partnership of Winks and Sissoko. Dele didn't have a good game last time out but neither did Moura when he came on for him. This position may be the one that ends up giving way for the 3 at back. The lineup I believe we will see tomorrow is:
Danny * Winks * Sissoko * KWP
Happy New Year my fellow Yids and hope we can start off 2019 on a winning note.
COYS!!!
