No. The rule is that it is not a foul if your hand is used for support. Your hand has to be on the ground for it to avoid being a penalty. When the ball touched the brazilain defender, his arm was still in the air, as a result, he used his extended arm to make his body bigger.green4life wrote:It’s crazy. For me VAR is a nightmare. So the rule is whenever the ball hits your hand and it’s away from your body it’s a handball notwithstanding the circumstances surrounding the movement of your hand. I also think the whole messi comment controversy also played into this. If they waved off the pk, it would have played into that.
We have been brainwashed by the Premier League that it's the best in the world. Nonsense. It's the best brand

Bro, this your interpretation has confused me even more. Even a blind ref could see the arm was being used for support, whether e don already reach ground or not. I don't see how he used the arm to make his body bigger o.

We watched this very boring video, 500 times, of Sacchi doing defensive drills, using sticks and without the ball, with Maldini, Baresi and Albertini. We used to think before then that if the other players are better, you have to lose. After that we learned anything is possible – you can beat better teams by using tactics." Jurgen Klopp

Whether we like it or not, that is the new rule. The arm away from the body makes the body bigger and is an offense.
