Please o...me sef confuse. They VAR is being abused. So where does a sliding/falling defender keep their hands? If you don't beak your fall, you risk serious shoulder injury
It’s crazy. For me VAR is a nightmare. So the rule is whenever the ball hits your hand and it’s away from your body it’s a handball notwithstanding the circumstances surrounding the movement of your hand. This was NEVER the interpretation of the rule. It’s silly.
No. The rule is that it is not a foul if your hand is used for support. Your hand has to be on the ground for it to avoid being a penalty. When the ball touched the brazilain defender, his arm was still in the air, as a result, he used his extended arm to make his body bigger.

I also think the whole messi comment controversy also played into this. If they waved off the pk, it would have played into that.
We have been brainwashed by the Premier League that it's the best in the world. Nonsense. It's the best brand
Roy Keane: ITV 02/25/14

He says that we are currently "brainwashed" into believing that the Premier League is the best competition in the world, and that we are now a long way off dominating the Champions League again.

I think Spain’s by far the best league.

So the hand was not on the ground, where was it? He was sliding not flying my man, sliding, your trailing hand is always on the ground

Bro, this your interpretation has confused me even more. Even a blind ref could see the arm was being used for support, whether e don already reach ground or not. I don't see how he used the arm to make his body bigger o.

Abeg help me too, the hand was on the ground supporting the body, as opposed to being raised up

Have you watched the replay. The ball touched his hand before his hand was used for support. Please watch the link below.

Whether we like it or not, that is the new rule. The arm away from the body makes the body bigger and is an offense.
