Lamps employs first team coach Anthony Barry from Wigan.

He certainly needs the tactical help.

I am not sure if Chilwell will be automatic first choice however this buy helps them with their home grown quota.

Emerson is off and Alonso isn’t all that. Not that Chillwell is. He’s young, he’s English and Lampard is desperate to maintain a core of Johnny Englishs’ so as to retain favour. Will be interesting to see what Franklyn does with Kante next season, does he finally return to his throne?

You are very aware this guy isn't an upgrade from any of the current LB/LWBs at Chelsea....by the way I also think Chelsea paid too much for chitwell. They were going to sell him for 80 millions before and all of a sudden 35 million were shaved off...this is another drinkwater like purchase

Saying a lie over and over again doesnt make it true. I dont know what their fans were spouting, but Leicester (the club) has never valued Chiwell at 80m. His price was always 50 and Chelsea met the price.

Has Chelsea been watching this guy over the years or what? Why would they pay this much for such an average defender?

Wait oh, how does a club not named Man City spend £50M on a defender that isn't an automatic starter?? I think Lampard expects Chilwell to start week in week out

Chilwell is the FIRST CHOICE! Its laughable for anyone to say otherwise.

Malang Sarr, should be a solid signing.

I am. But he remains Lamp's first choice. Personally I don't rate him, and would have looked elsewhere for competition in that position. The club was seeking to land Teles for several years, only to look elsewhere when he became available.

Marina's justification was his PL experience, but I also believe it's more of his English heritage.

Have to say I am stunned at Chelsea's buoyant activity in the txfer market...

Where's the money to finance all this salary budget coming from after the fees are paid, considering nobody knows yet if/when fans will be back in the stands....
Form is temporary; Class is Permanent!
Liverpool, European Champions 2005.

We watched this very boring video, 500 times, of Sacchi doing defensive drills, using sticks and without the ball, with Maldini, Baresi and Albertini. We used to think before then that if the other players are better, you have to lose. After that we learned anything is possible – you can beat better teams by using tactics." Jurgen Klopp

I expect that the next batch of transfer activities from Chelsea (apart from a new Keeper and the incoming Havertz) will be players leaving the club.

Bats, Drinkwater, Emerson, one of Jorginho/N'Golo, Bakayoko, and Kepa.

Sarr is already marked to be going out on loan.
