Granit Xhaka and Lucas Torreira subbed off due to injury during the international break. Good thing there’s ample cover in their positions. Would still ave liked LT healthy against the tough Watford lineup likely to have the new manager bounce at the weekend.

Isn't it strange that we missed signing any of those top players that he mentioned while they were still affordable?

Strangely, he is talking about other players.

I’m not announcing him as the “next coming” becuz nothing iz been decided yet but I like the era of ruthlessness brought in by “Don Raul”. When u look back at how many deals weren’t forced over the line since one D-squared left the scene, one wonders if we had had a man like him rather than sit tight turd like IG. Not crowning him yet bc the season ain’t over but so far I’m liking the direction we are trending.

The sad story of one time Arsenal starlet Marcus McGuane who went from Arsenal to Barcelona and now the second division of Denmark should serve as a warning to all these kids who keep listening to poor advisors and greedy agents. Imagine all this in just two years. Horrible!

How about Doyen Malen, Serge Gnabry and Jeff Reine-Adelaide who all left around the same time and are all playing in the Champions League this year?

The move makes perfect sense. He is leaving Barcelona B team to play first team football for Telstar(dutch second division). The Telstar manager is Andries Jonker who coached McGuane at youth level. He is going to be playing under someone he is more familiar with and Jonker has got a good record of nurturing young players.

Ishmael Bennacer did the same thing by leaving arsenal's youth team to go and join Empoli in serie B. He helped them get promoted and was then one of the best midfielders in serie A last season......and now he is at AC Milan.

Ok this isn’t a spitting contest but I can name ten others who left and didn’t make it. Y’all kin carry on.

Don’t see how a kid who was as close to a lock as being a first teamer at Arsenal as any youngster, could leave the team and then end up loitering, without even seeing game time at Barca B, and now end up at a Danish Second division team. Yet then have someone claim the move makes “perfect sense”? Ok if that’s a your “perfect sense” trajectory then good for you!

Zero games for Arsenal....close to lock up as a first teamer....28 games for barcelona B team.....loitering...really.....now he is joining a manager who coached him before at Telstar...a DUTCH SECOND DIVISION (not danish) team. It worked for a certain Ishmael Bennacer who is at AC Milan now....so yes....it makes perfect sense.

I’m not gonna over kill the point after all it’s a matter of opinions but McGuane was far closer to the first team than Bennacer, and the club mourned his loss to Barca. Also he played in the Europa league 4 the Gunners before he suddenly jumped ship to Barca. I hope it works out 4 the lad cuz Arsenal 2 Barca 2 the Danish lower division certainly wasn’t the way he foresaw things panning out.

Zero games is closer to first team? If it worked for Bennacer who according to you was not closer to first team....won't it not work too for McGuane?

Anyways to each his own. I myself would prefer to loiter and play 28 games than be closer to first team whilst playing zero games

To be fair Ashley Cole was superb for Chelsea. Henry was quite good at Barca, as was Szczęsny at Juve.
True, but I did not see Cole and Henry on that video.

what don't you list the players you see there, how "great" they were at Arsenal (and list their trophies), and how they became less great after leaving Arsenal.

At this stage ur simply arguing for the sake of arguing. There is no rhyme or reason 2 ur statements. But since u feel like splittin’ hairs .. facts are that he did sign for Barcelona and was assigned to their B team and he flopped. He saw game time at Arsenal, captained their youth team and had the likes of Juventus after him when he refused to extend his contract with Arsenal. I’m not here to piss on IB, who I actually rate but anyone with half a decent knowledge of the Gunners youth structure knew how far the club went to retain MCGuane and how badly his decision to leave hurt them. Again, one left for Barca against the team’s best intentions to retain him and the other with no sniff at making it at Arsenal signed with the Mighty Empoli. Have it ur way, I’m done with this.

Unlike you am willing to accept when am wrong.....he played two dead rubber Eufa cup games. None of them as a starter for Arsenal. He joined Barcelona B team(even your article stated that) where he had a chance of playing against men in the segunda division B. Something he couldn't get at Arsenal. He played more games there for Barcelona B than he ever did.....fact......He has already started more games for Telstar than he did for Arsenal....fact....That is more important for the player's development than the mythical "close to first team squad" without even training with the first team.

It's weird that for all your assertions.....you haven't presented anything factual and somehow I am the one who doesn't know what am talking about.

Ok thanks. Chris Willock left early just like McGuane and got 60 plus games for Benfica B and is now Barry making the bench at West Brom. Yeah so much for the development games at a low level. Carry on Bro. All good.
