Have you ever wondered why Mourinho never went back in 4 Ozil even when he was available 4 a two pence? What did he do 4 Arsene who pampered and spoilt him? The same Arsene who on numerous times called him out and begged him 2 step his game up and score more goals, eh? Nah Bruh, I agree with you on most things but not this cat. He is lost 2 me. Didn’t see him much at Madrid cuz I dnt watch much La Liga, but nah he ain’t my cup of tea. And it’s clear it’s the same 4 most managers around the world and Unai Emery. No one WANTS HIM!

Like Keown said, it can’t always be everyone else’s fault. Sometimes a player needs 2 look at himself. But here’s a lad that’s been spoilt and pampered his whole life and can’t handle accountability and responsibility.

I am not into speculation. But I ask why would Mourinho at ManU want Ozil when he had Mata and Pogba?

I know PSG were very keen on him and agreed a deal with Arsenal, but he refused to join much to the anger of the executives at the club.

But is this about Ozil only? If you think so, then you are not being objective.

Why bother Waffi. I am already beginning to give up on Ozil and Emery discussion. Same too on Emery's Arsenal. My prayer is when Emery's finally leaves or is sacked Arsenal would not descended to Mary's level. A middle tier EPL team. That thought bothers me a lot.

Whenever we seem to be struggling, gullible fanbase falls for the new Ozil gossip which does big things for clickbaiters & those content by any means chasing types.
We as a club were always classy for not briefing against players to the press privately or publicly. When you cross that line as it appears in this case, you paint the club into a corner when as Mesut did, he gives an interview.
If you look at the gossip pts w/o any emotion, you could come to very logical conclusions:
First - that he put his house on the market - heck, dude's been facing unwanted attn from crazies with a new wife in tow - yes, he's got security but changing pads is great strategy. Rumour danced with new pads in Istanbul.
Secondly, as i argued here at the time - the Turkish club had highest player on the payroll earning less than 70k euros weekly - arsenal will have to cover at least 80% of Ozils wages for that to fly but when you look at loan transfers, players get additional monies by some means - it becomes would we really be saving money for the duration of the loan.
Whenever you bench or get rid of a player, your options better be lit - you can start with ManU & Lukaku.
I don't subscribe to impositions of systems by new managers - i agree with Manuel Pellegrini who recently said somewhere the players matter more than the system. I remember Van Gaal going to Barca the 1st time & falling out with Rivaldo - the coach said he couldn't "implement his football philosophy at Barcelona due to cultural differences, and that he struggled hard as some players were unwilling to follow his lead" - he came back & fell out with Riquelme.
Gaffers often know the main qualities of the squads they inherit, the notion that you can turn the Rivaldos, Riquelme & in our case Ozil into something they ain't is poppycock.
Fundamental to a new gaffer on any team is establishing defensive solidity - we've been clueless on that score.

Arsenal Is Wasting What Remains Of Mesut Özil’s Prime:

A popular narrative is that Özil lacks the energy to press in the manner Emery wants him to press and lacks the defensive desire to win the ball back. Özil might be among the game’s best at getting between the lines and finding the half-spaces necessary to unlock defiant defenses, but the narrative dictates that he’s a casual defender at best and a lousy one at worst. According to the narrative, Özil is incapable of playing in Emery’s system....That narrative would be fine if, in Özil’s absence, Emery’s Arsenal had become a pressing juggernaut and a ball-hungry monster. Maybe that will be true in the future, but the data tells a different story for the present — Arsenal is worse at winning the ball back in the attacking third under Emery than it was toward the end of the Wenger era, and it’s worse at winning the ball back in the middle third, too....The Gunners rank 16th in ball recoveries and 19th out of 20 teams in interceptions per 90 minutes this season. Each of these stats belies the management’s desire for the new-look Arsenal to be based on controlling possession and pressing. They also contradict the stated excuses for leaving Özil out of the team. Simply put, Arsenal isn’t playing well enough — or even how it claims it wants to play — to justify Özil’s exclusion...At 31, the maestro is nearly at the end of his prime — and whatever remains of that prime is being wasted by a headstrong manager and a revolution that only exists in the abstract. It’s hard to fathom..

Glad to see all the points I have raised on these pages being raised by known sites. I guess I was suffering from brain haemorrhage. Like I pointed asked once, I ask again: where is pressing game Emery promised us?
But like Waffi always insist it's Mary's prerogative to choose which ever player he wants to play since its his head on d chopping block.
Honestly can't wait to see the back of Emery early enough.

Bro it's players available to the coach that dictates what system or formation he adopts. Like I once stated on these pages Emery's problem is that's he's trying to shoe these players into his system whatever that is. I said "whatever that is" because 15 months and still counting one is yet to see or feel it.

Y'all think it's an Oil problem? Please tell me why all of a sudden Torreira isn't being featured again? Can't he press again? Or he doesn't fit into Emery's plan again? Honestly the more you look at Emery's manage at Arsenal the more it stinks.

Just an FYI Emery away wins in the PL...

3-2 @ Cardiff
2-1 @ Newcastle
5-1 @ Fulham
2-1 @ Bournemouth
2-1 @ Huddersfield
1-0 @ Watford

All total under Emery Arsenal has earned 30 out of a possible 66 points away from the Emirates.

Take heart bro the insults are the price you pay for daring to have a contrary opinion. Go back to last season thread and see the amount of insults some of us were subjected to for daring to criticize Emery. People result to insult when they can't come up with a superior arguments to counter said.

That said back to the issue at hand. In so many ways Emery is doing himself no favours. Dont know if he's afraid of his skin or what? His use of LT is one. His present use of Pepe is another. Even his use of Xhaka can be questioned too. Try watching Xhaka play for Switzerland and you realise a different Xhaka plays for us.

I understand your opinion on Emery. You are more about the "end justifying the means" as they say. We are 3rd on the league before these round of matches aren't we? But please pause a minute and consider too the means to that end. Once you do that you will understand where some of us are coming from. And if you still in doubt please I advocate you also take some time to watch Chelsea under Lampard. I can bet you today those who bet on Lampard being sacked will be regretting now. When a coach comes in its not always about the "end justifying the means"

On Ozil, Emery from day one has miss used him. Statistically Ozil since he joined Arsenal isn't lacking in what he does for d team. Even with his miss use by Emery he's still among the top 5 in the top 5 leagues in Europe. The issue is the British journalists and match commentators pick on a player and everyone's goes to town with it. Especially Arsenal fans. For all the noise on Musti he has only commited one mistake that led to goal since joining Arsenal. Compared to the dude Man U signed from LC for 85m he's head and shoulders above him. Yet we are made to believe he's the worst defender on earth.

I repeat its a damn shame that Arsenal is trying to make ozil look bad for their own mistakes...

Its a sad culture and it should stop ..the club did the same to Adebayo, Sanchez, Ramsey and Ozil.. to some extent Iwobi ) though na fans fuel this one ...

When management makes mistakes they should own up and make one player suffer for it.

By the way....I don't subscribe to the myth that teams are not playing with number 10s anymore. For god sake even Burnley well known for their route one football is playing with a 10 in Jeff Hendrik. Manchester City is even playing with two of them for god sake. How you use them mIght have changed slightly depending on each individual coach's style and how best to make your available personnel more effective. Even Lionel Messi is now playing as a 10.

And before jumping to using Liverpool as an example of teams no longer using a 10. Liverpool can play without a 10 because of the combination skill sets they have available and the extremely efficient pressing style they do have which most teams have tried and fail to replicate. Emery’s arsenal included with or without a number 10.

The Torreira decision is now a bug hear for me. Why? He put in man of the match performance in Uruguay's game against Peru. He gave exactly what we have been missing in that midfield and it left me scratching my head wondering what exactly is going on.

If Torreira does not start against Sheffield United and we do not win, there will be questions asked of Emery because I am not the only Arsenal supporter who saw Torreira's incredible performance in Uruguay's 1 nil victory.

You guys are still debating Emery? I have already given up on him he's a lost cause. I will say it with a bold face i doubt if he can ever improve that squad.

Oh, did any of us watch Iwobi yesterday? For the first time he played centrally in that midfield like a withdrawn number 10. He played in the role Wenger always saw for him and he was outstanding. He bossed it all.

We (Arsenal) say Ozil does not offer work rate, but we sold Iwobi who offered creativity, some physicality, strength and athleticism. Yet we sold him to balance the books.

So why did y’all rarely play him there when you did have him?

Go ask those in charge, not us here who are still very angry at his sale.

Thank God I watched the game, the most telling contribution of Iwobi was blowing an open net with only the goalie to beat. If that performance is what’s considered special then no wonder people still drop rose petals at Ozils feet. Sorry wasn’t impressed but that’s just moi.

No vex, but it follows that even if he wasn’t sold - with the same people in charge - he wouldn’t be considered for that position anyway, he’d be on the wing...so it’s a better move for him and SE

If Emery wants to lose his job by January continue with that midfield.
